How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLoved the location
The wi-fi signal can’t reach our room. I have to go to the main lobby to get connected.

Verified reviewLocation is amazing, but you must keep in mind, that street is loud
Very old building with the cheapest and worst restoration inside. Absolutely no sound insulation. The mattress is terrible, the bed linen is very old and full of holes. To close the door in the bathroom you have to go through nine circles of hell. Everything is very old. The bathroom, by the way, should be private, but in fact you share it with the other two rooms. The shower, the sink, all of it is terrible, it's not even close to worth the money.

Verified reviewThe service was okay, they offered towel and blankets, so this was nice. And the location was very good too, walkable to both center and train/bus station.
There were people walking around NAKED and in their underwear in the dorm where I was staying. Unfortunately nobody should have to see this kind of thing, specially in a SHARED environment! The shower thing was not fixable, so I had to hold it EVERY TIME I was showering and this was very annoying. Also, there was a very weird smell on the entrance hall. And the “common” room was not at all welcoming, there was a guest that asked for a ping pong ball and they said they don’t have it! What is the point of providing a ping pong table, but no ping pong ball?! Also, the locker I got didn’t fully close, so that was annoying too.

Shower was clogged. I turned it off mid-shower because I was worried it’d overflow.

Verified reviewI absolutelly NOT recommend this place. First of all, the price is a joke. For that quality and equipment it should be MAXIMUM 1/3 of what we paid. We were supposed to have private bathroom outside a room, but it was not private, other people were using it as well. Moreover bathroom's door were broken, so it was very hard to lock it from inside. The bathroom itself was just disgusting, I attach photos. The sink was to small to even brush your teeth! Room was not equipped at all. No wardrobe, no chairs, no table. Nothing, just bed. It was INCREDIBLY hot in the room and it was hard to take breath, the small fun provided was of a little help. The only good thing in the room was a big window, through which we could see Ljubljana and dream of being outside of this horrible storage called "room". Last, but not least, the staff member was never there so we couldn't even make a claim. We have only met him once, during check-in. We will surely make a claim with Booking to receive compensation for staying in such a place.

Verified reviewIt is nice, that the room is underground, so you wont hear any party going on on the street. The bathroom is nice.
I think I will opt in the future for only women rooms - it is not normal that almost always are the guys loud - example sone singing, constantly mumbling sth, eating chips after 22, moving so loudly on the bed, that you hear it everywhere. Like almost all of them are egoistically impolite.

Verified reviewThe location. Very close to the Dragon Bridge and a very cute Turkish restaurant making very tasty food.
Everything. The worst hostel from we've ever been. The guy was polite, but he was always rushing. No one is hardly ever there - the only common room with the table tennis closed at 10 pm and didn't reopen until the guy came back in the morning, so there's no chance to socialise or to use the wifi which is NOT AVAILABILE IN THE ROOMS. - our room was in the basement with no windows and mould and dump on the walls - the bathrooms were smelly and not particularly, and the floors were constantly wet. There must be an issue with the shower drain, which SHOULD BE FIXED - Only 2 bathrooms. Only our room had 6 people! - For £25 per night, it's not worth it

very poor hostel. • constantly damp bathrooms that are not cleaned - water on the floor leacking EVERYWHERE • hard smoke-filled common room with old furniture • unfriendly staff • very hot in the rooms in summer, no air conditioning at all • the rooms are LITERALLY in the basement • dampness, humidity, rooms and wc are not cleaned enough • terrible soundproofing - you hear everything that happens in the neighboring rooms • price/quality does not match at all

Verified reviewSleeping beauty hostel was in a good location close to bars and restaurants.
This hostel was unclean, the showers flooded all over the floors and where broken, the rooms we stayed in downstairs where half indoor/ outdoor with a sheet as a wall covering construction behind. There was 1 pedestal fan between 3 rooms. The property is open to the street all day anyone can walk in and we were not given a locker because someone previously had lost the key so no way of locking up our belongings. The hostel manager was never at the property and only 1 roll of toilet paper rationed in the bathroom per night between 24 people. Our room had no windows or lighting and was basically the basement of a building under construction. I would not recommend staying at this property.

Floorboards were old and caving in in some parts of the room. No AC, but there was a standing fan which made it comfortable. No bathmat.

Verified reviewThe location is very good, right in the city centre and 15 minutes away from the train/bus station.
- The room smelled so bad and you couldn't really open the windows as they were doors that could be tilted inwards just a little bit. - People smoked inside the building and all the tobacco smell went in the room. -The beds were uncomfortable and the lockers were old and creaky.
