Only that our prearranged airport pick up did not wait for us and we had to take a more expensive cab. The hotel was very sorry and offered us a reduced fare when we were returning through Ljubjana in a week.

Check in girl was kinda grumpy. Didn’t feel very welcoming. No one helped with luggage. Room cleaning isn’t through enough as used dental floss will still be there the next day lol. Bed was a bit uneven. It was kinda loud facing the street.

A beautiful hotel in a great central location. The room was clean, spacious and had everything you could need (steamer, bathroom essentials, robe, etc). The bed and pillows were the comfiest I have ever slept on. The breakfast buffet is a highlight with an incredible selection of sweet and savoury options.

Our shower was a tad open and exposed to the rest of the room, which would be excellent for couples but less so when sharing the room with friends and family.

The hotel provides parking on site for 35 euro per night which we found really convenient. The beds are comfortable, the location is right in the heart of the city and everything is very clean and looks new.

Don’t get breakfast - it’s very expensive (€18 per person per day) when there are loads of cafes and bakeries nearby offering breakfast for way cheaper

Price of breakfast offputting, you would end up eating too much to get value for money. The hotel should consider offering a lower price continental of croissant, coffee, orange juice and yoghurt honey muesli etc.

The rooms are light, airy and very clean. Charming design details (like the cat etched into the wall in the WC) lend a quirky yet elegant touch. Excellent soundproofing. The cosmopolitan staff are friendly and helpful. All the sights in Ljubljana are just minutes away on foot, and being able to park in the hotel's garage makes it incredibly convenient.

We noticed a lot of reviews before arriving about the weird bathroom layout – everything is modular. The toilet is in one cubicle (separated by a door); the shower is in another cubicle (again with its own door)…both are off of the sink area, which is open to the rest of the room. Honestly, this did not pose any issues for my wife and I, but it is something to note, as I could see it being a problem if you are traveling with non-family members (you basically have to walk into an open area to get a towel).

We stayed at Occidental Ljubljana in June 2025 for 3 nights. It was a last minute booking (we decided to leave Zagreb early and go to Ljubljana instead) – we literally booked it a couple hours before arriving. It’s a true hotel – which is different than many places you stay in Europe, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The receptionists (who I believe are there 24/7?) were very helpful and gave us some good suggestions on where to eat and go. The rooms were nice, modern, and clean…the A/C worked well and the beds were comfortable. The location was great – very close to the center of old town, but we never noticed any noise. It was also conveniently located in the same building as a Lidl, which made some grocery shopping very easy. The hotel also has its own private parking in the same building (it’s a public garage, but in a separate area you need a code for – just ask the front desk). It did cost extra, but was extremely convenient. Overall we would definitely stay at Occidental Ljubljana again.

Drop off point (arrived by taxi) was not easy.

Proximity to the centre of Llujbijana which is beautiful. The style and quality of the hotel was excellent.
