It was confusing what amenities are an extra charge and how much they are, since they are not listed anywhere. The sauna and breakfast are extra; not included with the room. The shower temperature changed a lot.

The hotel is located in Rakov, outside of Postojna, so it is not near other businesses. It is quite remote. The facilities are simple, but the owner was very helpful at locking our bikes inside overnight! And charging the e-bikes.

The hotel could manage expectations better by not offering breakfast on Booking. There is nothing you can eat otherwise Also they could automatically send instructions on how to enter the building when no one is there at reception anymore. I think clarity towards guests can really help a place like this get better, one step at a time.

The location inside the forest is amazing. There are some beautiful caves just minutes away by car or by foot. To be honest, we read a lot of bad reviews about this place. Quoting Forrest Gump, Hotel Rakov Skocjan seems to be like a box of chocolates. Everyone gets a unique experience, you just never know which one. We also arrived in the dark, but the main entrance on the other side than the parking was open. There was a room key there with my name on a piece of paper. There was no one, probably not even other guests!? Surreal, cool, adventure but yes, don't expect guaranteed breakfast bufets, lavish dinners and smiling hosts when you arrive. You might get them, just don't assume you will (for now).

In the heart of the forest, where you can spend a quite stay, walking in the surroudings under the shadow of trees. The owner is very kind and even if I was late, she cook a warm dish.

My room was rather small, nothing too bad for a one-night stopover though.

The hotel is located in a very quiet area, actually in the middle of the forest, away from any source of noise. Thanks to its very good price, it's truly advisable for those who are travelling to any farther destination, as it's just 10 mins away from the motorway exit. The hotel is hosted in a nice cottage, also having a nice restaurant on the ground floor. It could be defined as a nice inn or a guesthouse.

It is a cosy hotel in the middle of forest very clean. Comfortable place, with very friendly staff. Kids loved the place they enjoyed exploring the forest and running around.

The smell of cigarettes in the room was very strong no matter for how long we left all windows open. It was not very clean as well.

For me everything was right, all negative comments just refer to personal prefetences. Maybe you will be disappointed if you are strictly vegan and/ or used to postmodern habits... Ok

It was probably an exception, but when we reached the hotel it was shut up. When it was opened up to us it was actually really comfortable. We were the only ones in the hotel!

In fact, we arrived there about 8 P.M., but there was no body there! No any person in the Hotel and no any person for any guidance! All of the doors are lock! So, We came back!

I had to wait literally for 2 hours for the host to arrive and to open the door for me. I arrived and there was no one there and they didn't pick the phone. After 2 hours, a guy appeared and said he was playing football. I had even filled the arrival time in booking. I thought the place wasn't even operating any more.

The place itself is fine and the price is fair.
