How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe liked the apartment, it had everything needed for one night. The location was good, and the host was helpful and friendly.
We didn’t like that the sheets were made of synthetic material. The pillows could be improved.

Verified reviewI travel 20 years, Rozi is the only owner who welcome us so happy, they treat us coffe, biscuits ,wine! The room has everything. For bikers like me the parking is safe. The room is also clean and smell good. Definitely i ll visit her again. Its 15 minutes walk to the cave. To give a 10 is less.

It’s by the road. So not for people sensitive to the noise. But there’re some rooms on the opposite side of the road, so the building blocks the noise. Ask for those in your booking

We’re glad to hear you were satisfied with our rooms and hospitality. We’re sorry if the noise from the road was bothersome. Our house is located by a local road, which many guests actually find convenient since Postojna Cave is only about a 10-minute walk away ,allowing them to leave their car in our free parking area. Most rooms are on the side where the building naturally blocks the noise, and all windows are well soundproofed and the rooms are air-conditioned. For this reason, we recommend keeping the windows closed during the night, especially on cooler nights like during your stay. It is currently high tourist season, which means that many areas – especially city centers or places near restaurants ,tend to be much noisier due to traffic, visitors, and evening activity. Compared to those areas, our location is still relatively peaceful. I also noticed that you and your family were very quiet and calm guests, which I fully respect. I understand that guests who value silence may be more sensitive to outside sounds. Everyone experiences their stay differently, and we appreciate you sharing your feedback, as it helps us improve and better communicate with future guests. Verified reviewNext to a road, parking in the fenced garden. The room was on the first floor, small but okay, had a double bed, bedside tables, a table + chairs, a fridge, a TV and some wardrobes. Microwave right outside the room. It had air conditioning, but we didn't need it. The host's son greeted us with the key and recommended a place for dinner (2 kms away, Lipa Plac).
We found 2 used towels hanging on the back of the bathroom door and a half-empty bottle of wine in the fridge. Plus a hair on my pillow. It might have been washed and just stuck to the pillow, but it was there. We didn't complain there as we arrived quite late, hurried away to have dinner somewhere and found these at 11pm. And we left in the morning.

I am truly sorry that our cleaning lady missed the two towels behind the bathroom door this was an oversight, and we sincerely apologize. The towels you received were, of course, clean, and the bed linen was freshly changed, as always. Regarding the hair on the pillow we do our best to check everything carefully, but sometimes a hair may remain even after washing, which we deeply regret. We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations in terms of cleanliness and overall satisfaction. Verified reviewSobe pri Roži Postojna The Good The room (2) is ensuite clean attractive, modern and mosquito proof (fly blinds/screens)-excellent. There is a fridge, kettle and a microwave available. The bed is very large & comfortable – the best bed by far of our 12-day holiday. We stayed at Sobe pri Roži Postojna For 3 nights. The owner Roži is pleasant and helpful. It was ideal for our visit to Postojna Jama; a 5-minute walk. Nearby jaunts to Predjama Castle, Weaver Cave, Mali Naravni most and Skocjan Caves… Summary: We would definitely stay here again. The Bad The toilet seat needs replacement (starting to degrade). During our stay nearby a property was making a lot of garden machinery noise dawn to dusk. The Ugly. Nothing. The place is pretty.

Check-in and Check-out was easy and simple. Location is perfect, just 10-minute walk to the Postojna cave. Free secured car parking.

Verified reviewThis was one of the nicest stays we've ever had. The whole place had a very warm and homey feeling, pity we were only passing by so stayed for just 1 night. The staff was very friendly and helpful (even gave us few recommendations where to eat). The room with own bathroom (shower) was clean and nicely decorated. There was a mini-fridge, kettle, coffee maker, microwave, cups, cutleries and complementary biscuits in the room as well. There are also few parking spots on the premises. The location was 15 mins of walking to Postojna Caves which was very convenient for us. If we ever come back to this part of Slovenia, we would not hesitate twice to book this place :) Thank you for everything!
