Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Austriathe dinner hours, included in the Half-board we reserved, were early and too short (18:00 - 20:00), daily pool starts working only at 12:00; in the pool there were features (bubbles etc) which were not switched on at that moment ...

Poland"A wonderful stay at Forest Hotel Videc." Even before arrival, the staff proved to be incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful – they quickly and smilingly resolved my reservation date issue. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, and the room was spacious, clean, and with very comfortable beds. The surrounding area is enchanting with its quiet, fresh air, and beautiful walking trails. It's the perfect place to relax and recharge. I'd happily return and recommend it to anyone who values comfort, hospitality, and closeness to nature.

RomaniaIt was very noisy, rooms are not isolated, 6am already people and kids screaming and banging the doors. Yet this is least, the horror thing is my 6 years old got a horrible bacteria from the jacuzzi. I'm considering sueing the location, its unforgivable that they dont dezinfect and put people and especially kids to face this danger.

FranceThe major disappointment was the fact that the wellness facilities, advertised in big style and with lovely pictures on the website, were actually closed. We were told that in summer, sauna was open only on the weekend, and all the other wellness facilities, such as massages, etc. were closed all summer. Only the Swimming Pool with whirlpool, and a small gym in the cellar, were open. I asked the hotel for a partial refund, but they were unwilling to negotiate. In the end, Booking.com was as kind as to make a gesture instead. It very much felt like in summer much less effort goes into hospitality than in winter. Just as another small example, the pizza, the highlight on the snack menu available at the reception, was never available during the whole stay (5 days) we were there. We always received the answer that they were just out of pizzas. I used the gym. It has weights, flat bench and similar equipment, but no machines such as treadmill, elliptical machine or bicycle, etc. If you want that, you are better off at the hotel Bellevue just a few hundred meters further, they have a large gym with many machines. Also, there is no Wi-Fi reception in the gym room so you need to download your program beforehand if you are using one. Another point that was a slight nuisance was that since there are several houses in that hotel complex, you are likely to have your neighbours’ windows and balconies directly facing yours, not far away. However, the only way to keep some privacy was to draw the heavy curtains - there are no light shine-through curtains. If you can, I would strongly recommend you ask for a room that looks out towards the forest. We were 4 people in a room, and our wooden beds made a lot of noise. I did not sleep well. The fold-down bed had its sharp corner just at the height of an adult’s eyes, and I nearly had an extremely bad accident when I once walked into it. This is dangerous.
The best things about our stay in July were the swimming pool (open from noon to 20 h), the fantastic breakfast buffet, the wonderful location in the hills, and the ability to rent good quality electric bicycles. Everything is very clean. Given we were there over the summer, it was probably much less crowded than in the winter. It felt like it was down-season and this made it all a little more ‘zen’.

GermanyThe place is really isolated and there is no alternative to eat nearby so you either depend on the hotel food or you drive down to the city for each meal (at least 30 minutes each way). The problem is the hotel is a horrible alternative for vegetarians, specially during lunch and dinner. Here in Booking, com it is written that they cater for special diets, but when we said we didn't eat meat no alternative was offered and it was really bad if you do not eat meat. The breakfast was not that bad, but on the second day the orange juice was broken and it was never fixed and no alternative solution was offered after several days. The beds were bad, really bad, every time you moved they made lots of noise and you would wake up. There was a sports team staying in hotel and they would start singing and shouting at 7 am on the corridors. And because that was not enough some sort of very loud alarm kept getting activated at random times, including during the night and no one came to stop it for hours and hours. The description here says the package includes swimming pool and spa. To our surprise they said spa and pool are the same and we had to pay for the real spa, the one with the saunas. 40 EUR per person per day. And then when you go in the two wet saunas were switched off, so you could only use two dry saunas, one not very hot, so 40 EUR just to use one smallish sauna is really a rip off.
The location is fantastic, the hiking trails are just in front of the hotel. Renting electric mountain bikes was as well a great experience, they were all high end ones and well maintained and the price was fair. The stuff was friendly.
