How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room was small and air conditioning was not great. No top sheet on the bed , so had to remove the duvet cover & use just the cover. We like to use wash cloths .

Verified reviewIt was a fabulous place! The building itself, interior and rooms looked great. Clean rooms with very comfy beds. Water was provided and breakfast at the garden was wonderful. The location is amazing as it is at the edge of the Old Town (i.e. easy access via Uber and other vehicles) and walkable distance or easy access to almost all tourist attractions.
Nothing, really. If I had to say, the front desk was not 24 hours, so you need to inform them if your check-in/out is either early or late. Having said that, this wasn't an issue for us because our flights were within their operating hours.

Verified reviewSecond time we were in this hotel so there were no surprises. The location is simply top, you can reach almost everything by feet. Breakfast is nice. Big bathroom.
The room on the first floor was a bit noisy especially in the morning when breakfast activities began.

Verified reviewThe location in the old town was perfect for a short city visit to Bratislava. The breakfast in the hotel garden was nice, as were the drinks served in the garden, where we met friends who live in Bratislava, ad did not know such a garden existed in the old town area.
The room we were allocated was up in the attic area, which meant there was little headroom above the beds and the only window was a skylight with no view out, and which, due to the extremely hot weather when we stayed, meant that room became very hot and stuffy, despite the air condiioning being on full. There was a large fan provided, but this was noisy.

Verified reviewBeautiful hotel in the historic old town of Bratislava. Friendly and attentive staff with excellent English, the large family room accommodated 2 adults and 2 children easily. Good breakfast with excellent local pastries. The location is fantastic, right next to St Martin's tower and you're on the main pedestrianised street within minutes.
As the area is pedestrianised, you need to walk a couple of hundred metres with you bags to get to reception, however there's nothing the hotel can do about this!

Verified reviewThe location was perfect for our stay last week, with the city at your doorstep to explore on foot. The receptionist was so kind and friendly, she even recommended quality places to eat to try real Slovak cuisine for a reasonable price such as Flagship, Divný Janko and U Taliana. Unfortunately, I did not get her name and she was not there on our last day, but we tried all of her recommendations and they were all outstanding! Thank you so much to the kind lady at reception with the long dark hair and glasses :) My parents' superior room even had views of the castle, which is beautiful to look at day and night.
Honestly there isn't anything to dislike. Our TV in the room said "scrambling" and the channels did not work, but we weren't there to watch TV :)

Verified reviewLoved this hotel, very welcoming, good air conditioning and room size, shower was good. The outdoor seating area for breakfast is very nice and the location is perfect. I would definitely return if I visit Bratislava again.
It's a little rough around the edges, some of the fixings were broken in the bathroom and the TV was completely unusable for some reason - unsure if you had to pay extra for it but not a big issue.

TV programs didn't work, power outlets (eg. To charge your phone) are rare... hidden behind the bedside table.
