Beautiful spot in the mountains. Facilities were clean and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was decent. Close walking distance to lots of trails.

We loved this place and wished we'd stayed longer as there are so many great hikes to do around and it's very calm and peaceful, deep in nature. The room and bathroom were newly fitted and decorated and sparkling clean. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast, with a good range of foods, and also the lunch package which we ordered on each day. We also had our dinner here twice and enjoyed it. The restaurant also had a terrace with special views. Staff are efficient and attentive.

It's a little difficult getting to and from the funicular. The balcony suite bedroom window also could use a screen to keep bugs out during the nighttime. Otherwise, everything was wonderful!

We loved the location, right there in the mountains. The staff is so friendly and hospitable. It's like a warm bed and breakfast feel. The food was delicious. The dessert bun was incredible. We got the balcony suite, so we had the most amazing view to wake up to and go to sleep to. Overall, we were very impressed with this chalet!

Very clean room and beds, lots of places to dry wet clothes after a winter hike. Very spacious rooms and bathrooms. Great food in the restaurant.

The chalet door is locked at 10pm when the bar closes. It’s not an issue in winter but when daylight in the summer allows very long walks, it would be good to be able to access the chalet after 10pm without staff having to wait up to lock the door late.

I didn’t have breakfast at the chalet as I’m on a gluten-free and dairy-free diet (and vegetarian), which is not a good combination for eating in Slovak restaurants so I brought food with me. It’s great to be able to store food in the mini-fridge at the hotel corridor. The last time I stayed at the chalet with my partner, we suggested it would be useful to have access to a kettle instead of having to ask for hot water for the flask at the bar (though the staff were always very helpful). This time there were communal kettles at the hotel corridors, as well as a microwave. It all made preparations for long mountain walks much easier. I arrived before check-in time and asked if I could leave my luggage at the reception while I went walking and as my room was ready, I was checked in early, which was really appreciated. Every time we stay, the staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. The rooms are well appointed and clean, with a good bathroom/ shower. The views are great (especially from the apartment which faces the mountains). Staying at the chalet saves 6km (walking from/to an alternative base in Starý Smokovec) which allows more time for walking to Zbojnícka chata and Téryho chata.

We visited in December and the approach to the building was very icy and could be difficult to walk for some, I recommend bringing ice grips for shoes in winter. Luckily we could buy them at the reception

Perfect location with beautiful mountain trails at your doorstep, wonderful views everywhere you look. Good and hearty breakfast, comfortable room. The place looked magical with Christmas decorations

I didn‘t like being locked in during the night. The main door of the hut kept closed. Unfortunatly, there weren‘t many options for vegetarians at the restaurant and breakfast, but they tried to cater to my needs.

I really liked the staff, the house itself and my little room, I could use a sauna for 15 Euros and what I had at the restaurant was tasty! Also, of course the view was amazing and it was easy to get to even with public transport.

Absolutely amazing to stay there. The view was outer worldly, most of the hiking trails start right from the cottage. Food was exceptional and the room was cosy and comfortable.

There is a strange check in and toilet system for people staying over. We wanted to have lunch and use toilet but we were told we need to pay to use toilets, even though we would stay over for a night. We gave up and went to other place.

Great location in beatiful surrounding to start next trek in the morning, traditional hut, delicious breakfast, very helpful stuff, cosy double room. Thank you guys!
