Very good location, in the center of the village, but still quiet. Restaurant in the location and others close, same as for supermarket and sport equipment stores (also for renting equipment) Big rooms (we even got our own lobby for the 2 rooms), nice balcony with mountain view and right next to the forest, everything was perfect Very good breakfast and the host was very attentive to our needs Train station very close (but no noise from there), perfect for exploring the surroundings

Nothing to fault about the Pension. Next time though we would plan on requesting a mountain view room, as the rooms looking over the valley can be disturbed a little by the trains (particularly the bell from the level crossing) - but that isn't something we can blame the Pension for (and only can be heard if you leave your balcony window open).

Excellent all round stay - one of the best I've experienced anywhere. The staff were extremely helpful, going out of their way to cater for our dietary requirements and ensuring that our stay was as enjoyable as possible. Lovely large clean room with lots of wardrobe and cupboard space and a little balcony. Excellent breakfast - we worked through most of the hot options, with the parky (frankfurters), porridge and pancackes being particularly good. Location could not have been better - a few minutes walk from both the train station, restaurants and the funicular to Hrebienok.

This was a pretty exceptional stay - awesome staff, good breakfast, very clean and spacious rooms, and a giant and comfy bed with two separate matrases, while joint as a couple bed.

We liked everything.

Everything about our stay was perfect. Our room was lovely and clean. Not too small, big comfortable bed. It got cleaned every day which was nice. We were only planning on staying for 3 nights but ended up extending our stay. Great breakfast where we were able to choose our meal each morning from quite a few options. Martina was also super nice and friendly. If we’re ever back in the area we would definitely stay here again!

I couldn’t be happier with my stay at this charming pension! The room was spacious and comfortable, providing a perfect retreat. What truly set this place apart, however, was the incredible staff. There is nothing not to like as the fog is not in the control of the Pension Tatrasport Zampa lol.

Where to begin? Look I will be honest - we were really unlucky in that the whole time of our stay the whole area was under thick fog with the only possibility of sunshine and seeing the mountain being if you got the funicular up above the fog layer - but the funicular station is only a few minutes walk at the back of the accommodation and is a perfect excursion. Also if you are fogged in you could call the Grand Hotel Praha and make a reservation for their spa with its outside heated pool. It is only minutes away in the next town by car - or there is a path right outside the accommodation directly there - so 7km walk then a nice spa as your reward!!! Alternatively the spa at the Grand hotel at the base of the funicular in your own town can be booked. Another possibility when fogged in is to take the inexpensive train to the end of the line at Strbske Pleso and explore there after a 40 minutes comfortable journey. As for the walk to the station from your room - it is like out the door, down some steps and a 300 metre walk and you are there - your stay at the Pension Tatrasport Zampa could not be an easier location to explore from and the staff are fantastic, as is the breakfast selection and quality. As for the Spitz restaurant that was just under our room - via an internal security door you are there in seconds - so you can wear nice clothes! It is something else. One final note - I was a handyman for a number of years - I know good quality work when I see it - the perfection of the bathroom finishing matches the perfection of the modern and rustic style and the cleaness of the accomodation - with its easy and secure parking at the back for unloading and getting settled in. Did I say the staff were fantastic? Ok I say it again!

The crew (i understood it's a family) is amazing! They've been helping us in every way and make sure we have everything we need. The room was comfortable with a great view to the mountain. Everything was clean. The location was good and close to attractions in the area. The breakfast menu was with multiple options and the food was great! We stayed with 3 little children and we had everything we needed.

Just minor stuff - the socket near one of the beds was kinda hidden in the bedside table; fridge was in cabinet that needed repair (skewed door).

Location is good - 5 minutes walking from the train station, or from the funicular. There's a mineral water spring just two minutes away. At the same time, the hotel is a bit away from the road, so our stay was very quiet. The room is very comfortable and spacious. The bathroom extremely clean, the shower is very good. Breakfast is combination of freshly-cooked dishes selected by the menu and buffet, sufficiently nutritious and diverse. All members of staff very accommodating and helpful.

We had an amazing time at the hotel! It is located at the edge of the town so not too many neighbours. Staff was super kind, the room was fantastic with a view to the mountain. Breakfast was nice, all hot meals were prepared on spot as our request. The hotel has a restaurant downstairs where the food is fantastic. Parking spots are right behind the building and closed with a gate. There are trails starting just 3 minutes away from the hotel. Other nice towns are easily and quickly accessible by car and even by bus. Bus stop is across the street and very cheap to use (dogs are also allowed).

Our room came with a balcony but unfortunately it was rainy, cold weather so we weren’t able to enjoy it. The room was very big and clean, with a nice bathroom. There was also a fridge in the room. The breakfast had a variety of cold choices, hearty and sweet. The warm breakfast was ‘à la carte’. The restaurant ‘Spitz’ offers very tasty dishes at reasonable prices. As guests of the hotel you get 10% discount. We had hamburger, Thai curry and pork ribs. All three recommended! We really recommend the restaurant, best we ate during our stay in Slovakia.

Very well located pension, nearby many hiking routes and the local train/electricka station. The rooms are big and super clean with comfy beds. Breakfast is really good too (including the coffee). Martina at the reception desk takes very good care of all the guests, she provides hiking tips etc. The restaurant on the ground floor, which doesn't belong to the hotel, is nice too and it is an easy option for dinner after a tiresome day in the mountains. All in all very good value for money.

The room was clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone. The restaurant was fantastic and staff was friendly and helpful. Walking distance to everything in Stary Smokovec.
