Summers are getting warmer. Since the rooms are not made for such high weather, it might be good to keep a fan.

Great hostel at the base of High Tatras. The COG railway station is at a walking distance. Great interiors and helpful staff. Offers a great way to warm up before heading for a hike (you will have to climb up four floors to reach the hostel. no lift).

Clean, modern, well equipped, comfortable. Honestly, beside the fact that it is a shared accomodation as a dorm, overall the quality is better than in many hotels. It felt like at home, comfortable couch in the living space, full equipped kitchen, hairdryer in the bathroom. No problem with parking. Excellent. Good location

The hostel is on the fifth floor of a building with no elevator. Not suitable for people with mobility issues. The main door of the building needs to be opened with a key that is chained to a box that must be opened with a code. But the key must be put back in the box after the main door is opened, without letting the main door close. How is that possible?? Please think about making this better. Communication with hostel management is not good. I sent messages on Whatsapp but did not get any response. There is no management on site.

The hostel is very near to the Tatransky Liesvovec train station and also a 15-minute walk from the Strba train station. So, it is ideal for getting around in the high Tatras anywhere by train. The kitchen is well equipped with a coffee machine and other amenities. The bathrooms are clean and have good ventilation. The dorms are spacious. Overall satified with the stay.

The restroom was disorganized and a bit dirty, could be from other guests that were staying in the hostel as well.

The feeling that the owner/ manager had completely abandoned the place to whatever the 20 year old workaway volunteers knew how to do without instruction. I text and rang for help locating the place but was ignored. One pair of guests sat on the doorstep for an hour before someone else let them in (without calling the volunteers etc. so they could have been anyone). I woke up to find someone in the bunk above me that no one knew about. At the very least, the workaway could have access to the watsapp/ booking messages and then the manager’s ignorance would matter less. I’m older so I was comfortable taking the executive decision to throw out the mouldy food from the fridge and put the mouldy Tupperware through the dishwasher but I didn’t have the key to the bear-proof bins outside so the kitchen is rapidly becoming a display of unwashed jars cans and bottles waiting for recycling. Still a better quality than a lot of places but disappointing to see it not being taken care of.

Volunteers were lovely and the location was very handy for some hiking. Between 5 flights of stairs and being off the beaten track most people were into hiking so that was nice. The building was very warm so it dried my wet hiking gear very quickly. The whole place is very new so the foam mattresses are still kind of ok, the beds are built to the wall so you can move without waking your bunk mate up and the sockets fit both my adapter and my usb at the same time- a first.

No explanation in how to get there and use the trains, eg what stop to get of at etc - l wasted time trying to figure it out, getting lost and buying train tickets. The others who l met at the hostel had the same issue

Perfect! Smooth checkin system no communication or staff was even necessary just used all of the information provided. Bed had great mattresses with thick pillows and blankets. Common areas and facilities were clean and comfortable!

Front door is really loud, i was afraid to wake up everybody at 5 o'clock T_T

Clean place, beds are comfortable, there are curtains on beds and also personal sockets, there's a kitchen (didn't use it, but anyway that's cool!), washing machine. Hostel is situated close to Štrba station (20 min) and Tatranský Lieskovec (5-7 min).

There's no reception so if you have any issues or are confused by anything on arrival it can be hard to figure it out. Sometimes staff are there.

Excellent location with frequent trains to Strba and Strbskie Pleso, great base for everyone who wants to explore Tatras and near by cities and towns.

They say they have EV charging, which is technically true, but it's in a tight garage that's not easy to access. There's only an ordinary 220V wall outlet (so you need to bring your own charger), and they charge 0.40 EUR/kWh. It's not convenient at all, and I recommend using this option only in emergencies. As an alternative, I suggest using the ZSE charger at Štrbské Pleso, which is even cheaper.

Nice place, the balcony, quite sociable. Great place to meet other hikers.

At night you can’t see the entrance or any signals. It was very frustrating because I walked in front of the place three times but couldn’t see it.

Really nice hostel vibe. Sociable, but you can also escape into your own space if you like. Literally the most convenient location if you’re looking to hike in the Mountains (and be there early to beat the crowd). Beds are cozy, views are beautiful, town is quiet. Everyone is nice :-)
