There is only 1 shower and toilet for the whole accommodation. I think it is mostly a few people here, but still that can affect you a bit I guess.

It was easy access, pretty straight forward. In this price, it's fine for staying for a day or 2. I just needed to crash for the night, so it worked for me.

an airbnb apartment style ‘hostel’, alright for the cheap price

    - it’s an airbnb apartment style ‘hostel’ managed by volunteers so communication may be all over the place - only 1 toilet and 1 shower for the entire apartment (6 bunk beds, 3 private rooms) - location far from the old town (had to take bus) - unable to wear shoes (ie bare-feet) in the house

    - self check in means you have to read instructions carefully and you can check in earlier than conventional 3pm compared to other places - appreciate the privacy curtains - guest kitchen, ability to cook own meals - towels free and provided

Though there were lockers in the room, there were no keys for the locks

The hostel was small and peaceful. It was very clean and the beds were very comfortable and have blackout curtains. The two volunteers, Hannah and Raj were so lovely and welcoming. The area is calm and quiet. The location isn't quite central but the hostel is close to the bus stop and the buses were regular and cheap and it is only a short ride into the centre, or 30 minute walk.

You get what you paid for. This is a guest-run hostel, you have the instructions for everything written on notes across the hostel and you need to make your own bed. The sheets were dried inside so they smelled a little, but bathrooms and kitchen were clean. You only have one toilet and one shower for everyone, so you might need to wait a little. Bed on the mixed dormitory was comfortable and privacy curtain is very good. You have one socket and USB plug on your bed. Overall decent for staying one night.

Large flat converted to "pseudo hostel"
    • Business trip
    • Solo traveller
    • Triple Room with Shared Bathroom
    • Stayed 1 night

I understand that the place is advertised as a hostel, and it is OK, as there is one room with bunk beds, and three private rooms basically with just beds (i.e. without a table, chairs, etc.). This is honest in some sense, but can mislead some foreigners who would prefer hostels in order to get travel/visit advice from a staff, meet other travellers, etc. I also need to note they were not able to provide any bed sheets as I booked only at about 8pm on the day of my arrival at midnight. It was OK for me to sleep using pillow and blanket with no sheets, as I am not sensitive to this, but this just illustrates how this flat was turned rather into "pseudo hostel" than a hostel. Also to note there is just one toilet, which also has a small bathroom, and this was occupied by some lady for quite a long time when I needed to pee :), but I managed. However, do not leave going to a WC for a last moment, as it might be an issue. There is naturally just one shower as it is a flat. Generally, this very large flat might feel OK as a luxirious flat on a top floor, but it was pretty dark and had an unpleasant feel on the ground floor, so owners made a correct decision to turn it to a pseudo hostel, as it can serve OK also to those in a need for an emergency accomodation for more than 1 night (those looking for a job or so), for ex. because the kitchen is really perfect there to cook own meals.

It had all I needed: - self check-in at night (due to late flight arrival to Vienna, and a risk of last moment delays on a way), - location near where I had a meeting the next day, - quiet place to sleep, - comfy bed. Accommodation in Bratislava is generally very expensive especially as there is a lack of "AirBnB style converted flats" like this (in comparison with Prague, Budapest, Krakow, etc.). And the owner cares for what he/she can care from a distance, i.e. automatic floor cleaning by a robotic floor cleaner, and leaving food and drinks for sale trusting that guests pay by leaving the money in a box (I did not need this in the end, as my flight was on time, but this would help me in case of a delay). Generally, I would come here again should my flight have arrival at Vienna after 10pm, and I would face a risk of getting to the place at 3am.

Bathroom and toilet should be cleaned more often, nobody cleaned it in 3 days I was there. In the end it started looking pretty bad and there was no more toilet paper on the day I left. Other than that, I liked the place.

Good wifi, bus stop is close, space is big and comfortable. Everything is self managed so I didn't see any staff in 3 days I stayed (I noticed some housekeeping was done so someone was coming when I was out).

Only 1 shower to share with all guests and not ideal for washing machine to be in same location as the only shower room.

Very comfortable bed and the use of a washing machine was handy, although it would have been better not to have had the washing machine in the same room as the only shower in the hostel.

I was in the dorm. The dorm door is a sliding glass door that is very difficult to close and makes a lot of noise. So either you don't close it or you wake everyone up. In addition, there is no lock on the door. The door is always open. And when someone doesn't close the door of the Hostel, anyone can enter the Hostel and the dorm. Add to that the fact that right next door is the living room. So you can hear everything that's happening on the other side. It's very poorly insulated. You can hear people entering the Hostel and people spending time in the living room. Finally, the cleaning lady doesn't come regularly... Maybe once a week? When I arrived, the staff was assembling the furniture and disturbed me until almost 11pm in my room. It's a very new Hostel. They are still setting things up. It wasn't very pleasant for me. If you're not ready, don't open!!!

Quiet, free parking space opposite, easy to park.

The major problem with this hostel is that there's only one toilet and one bathroom. Even if you book a separate room, you have to use the shared bathroom. So when the hostel is full of guests, it becomes a big problem. Also, the girls use the mirrors in the toilet or bathroom for doing their makeup, and it takes a long time, making you have to wait. Maybe providing a mirror in every room and in the dorm will solve this.

The location is good. Just a few meters from the bus stop.
