Nice place and very good host that tries her best to help and guide you. Definitely a place to consider for your stay in Paramaribo. Walkable distance to the centre but not close. Nice comfy oasis. Restaurants and supermarkets near by.

Mattress was a bit old and you could feel the springs depending on how you were lying down and the bed creaked a bit as you move but I still slept well each night.

Really cosy feel to the place, you get the feeling it's a labour of love to have made and run it. Carolien is a great host, friendly and curious about her guests. Always happy to help or offer advice. It's great value for money given how much space you get and having bikes to hire for 100 srd per day made getting around Paramaribo so easy. The neighbourhood is very quiet but there's still plenty of supermarkets and places to eat and drink nearby, especially Jairoop roti shop for the best roti I had in both Suriname and Guyana. With bikes it takes less than 20 minutes gentle cycling to get into the centre of town. It was also really nice to have all the covered courtyard space to hang out in too.

A bit far from the downtown, but with a bicycle to rent or by bus it is fast enough.

Carolien was an amazing host, very helpful, attentive, and understanding. She was always there to assist and guide. The place is nice and cozy with everything you need to feel yourself at home. Carolien helped me with a transfer and to the airport and let me leave my backpack while I was on my trip to Upper Suriname. I recommend this place.

We did originally have an apartment each booked, with AC and a courtyard. Not long before arriving, we were offered a bigger apartment with two bedrooms at the same cost. I cannot comment on the original apartments, but will do so on the one we stayed in. The single room had no AC, a well worn mattress, which was sunken in the middle and not fit for purpose. The double room had Ac. One of the beds legs had a wood beetle. There was a pile of sawdust at the base of one leg, which begs the question as to how often the floors are cleaned. We were asked if we were ok with 3 rescue dogs staying on the property (outside). Both liking dogs, we said ok. Big mistake, as throughout the day and evening they often baked. The biggest problem with them, was they took it upon themselves to be our 6am alarm clock. I really don’t know standard verses rental price in Suriname, but this property was certainly tired and could do with some care and attention.

There was a taxi rank 2 doors away. Shops were a short walk away. The host came and let us in, early hours of the morning, as we had a late flight.

Very closed to everything. It is a budget accommodation were you do get very high value for what you pay for. If you are looking for something affordable this would be perfect.

This is a terrific place to stay in Paramaribo. You get amazing value for the cost. It has all the amenities you need and more like a kitchen and a desk in your room, a nice atmosphere, it's spacious, and it has a comfortable bed and pillows. It's also in a quiet area so I slept like a baby. As a bonus, it's possible to rent a bike for very cheaply that can help you see lots of the city and its surroundings. Finally, there are lots of nice guests doing a long stay that add to the atmosphere and have lots of interesting stories and Caroline the owner is full of good vibes, helpfullness, and useful contacts for your stay in Suriname. I highly recommend it.

Absolutely fabulous the best place to be in Paramaribo ...home for home The area is very quiet and safe regardless the time you come back home as I experimented this during all the time knowing I stayed there for a week,and I will return there next week prior my departure to Guyana. The house is surrounded by lush vegetation,no car noise-knowing I'm a light sleeper and very fussy , with all the  amenities which you would have at home from a wine bottle opener,cups,glasses,plates ,soucepans ,cutlery ,wash machine...is ALL there.... and a great WiFi which is stable and never let me down knowing I was doing some work on my laptop. On top of this,Caroline which will be your help and host she will be more than happy to help you with whatever you need as she is very well connected ,kind,helpful and knowledgable in order to succeed in your trip ,knowing I was here for the first time I would consider it as my second home from London as I felt so welcomed!So,would I come again????...yes please book me in for the next trip to be here again next time. Many thanks for your hospitality and keeping a sustainable place so spotless on such a reasonable place!🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
