I didn't like that there was no complimentary drinking water, not even a small bottle to start off with. There was no extractor fan in the toilet and no table salt and pepper.

The location was excellent, the pool was awesome and the apartment was very clean. The air-conditioning and hot and cold water worked very well. Our Host Erwin was very helpful and Ms Kamla, the housekeeper was so pleasant and did all she could to assist us.

Great accommodation! Very clean, well equiped, and very comfortable beds. Located in a quiet street, but still close to the city center. The hosts Richard and Erwin were great! Always ready to help you with anything you needed, and always down for some fun chats. We spent our Sunday with Richard strolling along the local markets. Highly recommend!

The location is excellent - just 15 mins walk from 't Vat... which is the centre of Paramaribo night life. Our family of four made Max' Pool & Garden the base for our holiday in Suriname, checking in and out on four different ooccassions over a two week period. We experienced three different accomodation types - 2x 2 bed apartments, just beside the pool; a beautiful 3 bed first floor apartment with amazing balcony space in villa opposite the main building and a ground floor 3 bed villa (accomodates 9 people - ideally for families with young children) again with outdoor space and best bathroom facilities. Our favourite was the first floor apartment because of the amazing balcony which was so cool in the heat of the day. All accomodation had fully equipped kitchens and there was constant hot water in the bathrooms. We were able to have our clothes laundered during our stay and the hospitality shown by Erwin and Kamela was superior.

Wifi was present but weak but that is true of Surinam in general where signal is mostly 3G.

Richard is an attentive and extremely helpful host. He even went out and bought a toaster when we asked for one! The pool is a welcome escape from the heat and the location is in a very safe neighbourhood close to restaurants and a small supermarket a stone throws away.

Had a great stay here while in Paramaribo. Richard, the property owner, arranged a taxi driver who was waiting for us at the airport despite our late-night arrival. We arrived to the hotel around 3 am, and were happy to find Erwin waiting for us. He let us in and we were able to sort out other formalities next day when the owner arrived. It is a 15 min walk to the city center with several restaurants and food stores along the way. We stayed both in a cozy house with a big balcony and in the ground-floor appartment. Both places were clean and fully equiped with everything one might need. They even had a small library and some games to play. WiFi was strong in both houses. Richard was very friendly, knowledgeable, and light-spirited. Have I mentioned that he can organize multi-day tours to the interior and guide you there. We also liked his restaurant recommendations.

nothing, we already went back excellent value , charming house with lovely garden

lovely charming house where you have the top floor all by yourself. This includes three bedrooms, kitchen/living room, toilet and shower. The best part is the veranda where you can chill in the breeze. House is very clean, hosts nice and flexible. Swimming pool is right across the small street (10 m walk) . Small shop at 20 m , waterfront 10 min walk.

Great Host, Awesome place to stay in Paramaribo. He met me late at 1 am after a late arrival and handed me the keys and gave me a quick tour.
