The area was quiet, which we appreciated. The hostel itself was okay, and the staff were present when needed.

Our room wasn’t cleaned during the stay, and we had to ask multiple times for some basic things. We were also given incorrect information about Sunday transport from Albina — we were told there were no boats, but there actually were. This almost led us to pay for an extra night. It would be helpful if the staff double-checked logistical info, since travelers often rely on local advice.

If the hostel doesn't get redecorated in the next 3 months it would go from Shabby chic to rundown, so Mr&Mrs owner, get redecorating!

The staff was super kind and guided us for our trip from French guiana to suriname and suriname to guyana. They provided us with number of shared taxi whom we could reach via WhatsApp. The staff assisted us with any questions we had prior to our visit and gave us good suggestions about logistics and even restaurants to try around the area. They also helped us book tours, for example a city tour of Paramaribo. Ronald Mayland was our guide during a wonderful city tour of Paramaribo by bike. Roland is an independent contractor, but he also works with different tour companies. He was patient, friendly, and very knowledgeable.  I was nervous about riding a bike in the city, but he patiently taught me some tricks to become comfortable and always took extra care of me and my husband. On top of the historical part, Ronald was also very knowledgeable about architecture and nature, especially the birds.  We happened to mention that we really liked seeing the abundance of birds in Paramaribo, and he even made sure we could bike near the water where some of the nesting areas of a lot of birds was. We got to try locals fruits, acai or as it is called in Suriname: Podosiri., ginger beer, and traditional Surinamese lunch with vegetarian and vegan options. We would really recommend this tour to anyone whether you are interested in history, nature, or culture or want to get good food recommendations and experience local cuisine. This tour was also available by bus, and by walking, however, we took the bike option. I hadn't biked for 4 years before that, so if I can do it with my really rusty skills, anyone can. The tour for us cost 40 euros each including bike rental and guide from 09:00 till 15:00. This price did not include lunch and things we bought separately. The floor creeked and some the wooden slabs bent when we walked over them in our room. Our room was just next to a smaller balcony which was a common area which didn't give us much privacy since the seats were right outside our window.

Big room (I was my 1st night with 2 nice guys, we talked a lot 👋), then 2 nights all alone in my dormitory (low season), clean, 3 fans in the dormitory, hot shower, big living room (with chinese tv ;), nice staff, very helpful, good emplacement (but you have to walk 200m in a small street to reach the main one, little creepy in the evening, it's the one after the fire...). Hostel very calm. I slept well.

Taxes to pay, no individual lamp at your bed, no curtain (but you can hang something to have some privacy, there is a cord at lower bed), you have to have your padlock with you to use the locker, no soap, no towel. No Visa card! Nowhere! Some problems with water pressure (you have just to wait and it's ok).

The attention of all the personal, was simple great!!!!!. I have a problem with the ferry that cross to Guyana, and the people in the hostel help me to contact the man who leaves me to the frontier. Also, I pay later because I don't have change, and the girl don't have problem with that. There always help me in all!!!. 👍😎 I rent a shared room, but in my four days of stay, I only have companion only one night, so was very comfortable. BUT THE ATTENTION OF ALL THE PERSONAL WAS THE BEST OF MY STAY, DEFINETELY!!!!!!!.

Reception staff were excellent, with one particular lady being very helpful and polite. Good location. Large lounge. This is the only hostel in the country I believe, so travellers don't have much choice, but it could be improved SO much with so little effort and expense, see below.

They don't accept card payments. But, to be fair, almost no one in Suriname seems to accept them. Very poorly equipped kitchen (eg, pls buy a can opener, pls supply more than 3 forks, as there are 10+ people in the hostel normally), no plastic storage containers for cooked food. I could go on and on. It would take less than 50 Euros for a massive change. Owner seems to take no interest in making even tiny adjustments to make guests life so much easier - eg, pls put a hook near the bathroom basin, so we can hang a towel (cost: 1 Euro, time needed: 2 mins), pls put a mirror above the basins (only 1 basin out of 5 has this) so that we can see our faces when we are shaving! Pls put a some furniture in room 9 other than the 2 beds - there was literally NOTHING else other than the beds; how about a drawer, or a cupboard to hang our clothes?

Loved the location. Close to the main attractions and most importantly, close to a very good restaurant called Souposo. The room is nice but it misses a table - place - for you to put your stuff, as it only has the sink but no space for anything else. Shower could also have a little curtain so you don’t get the toilet wet when showering. One of the staff was wonderful in making me an omelet everyday, instead of the boiled egg that is normally given. I would stay again but my main complain is: it says you can pay with card but you can’t. They don’t accept it and say there is a problem with the bank. Luckily they gave me the option of making a wise transfer, but it is disappointing!

Good value for your money, nice spacious room. And clean compared to hostel standards! And they have filtered coffe, nice.

First dorm I got was horrendous and moreover stank. Paid more and got changed to a dorm with a/c The bed are very uncomfortable , spring mattress type and you feel all of them … Wooden house so very noisy

Very good location in the centre, close to shops and restaurants. Nice and helpfull stuff.

First off, the staff are so great! The two women who work the reception area are fantastic. Very on the ball and attentive. The hostel is in a great location as well.

I stayed in room number six and it was a great room with very good AC, but that mattress really needs to be replaced. Either replaced or put some kind of a topper on it because you can feel the coils.
