How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Amenities like toasters, cuttlery, were not in good state. The blinds are dirty and they seem too old for such a fairly new place. Bathroom towel rails are down. If you could just fix those few minor things that will give your place real value for money

Curtains falling from rails, bed is hard and uncomfortable, blinds in bedrooms bring in light and there is no block out, no tv in bedrooms . Seating for only 2 people in lounge in a two bedroom apartment, outdoor furniture old and ragged , no desk for working

Check in was a hassle; we had to drive to to a different property up the street for verification, this was not explained beforehand. We got wet in the rain as a result of that misunderstanding. There were cockroaches in the otherwise lovely apartment.
The property is great value for money, very spacious and neat. It is very close to the gables, as well as Ezulwini private hospital.

There was a lot of dust all around the house. The beds were so hard and uncomfortable. The bed sheets were basically non-existent. The couch had a lot of water stains. The patio chairs were falling apart

We didn't have iron, and remote control for our bedroom air-conditioning wasn't working, no extra blankets ihad to ask for 1 , the duvet cover wasn't enough it was cold

No air-con (only 1 fan provided for the entire 2-bedroom unit) 3 people but only 2 towels provided, had to call reception and request additional towels which seemed to be a problem as the 2 additional towels brought were really bad, had holes in them and looked like they were used for decades?
Easy friendly service and check-in. Place was clean, beds comfortable. Safe parking.

THE MAIN PROBLEM WAS WHEN WE HAD TO SLEEP, THE SPOT LIGHT FROM THE NEIGHBOUR WAS ILLUMINATING OUR MAIN BEDROOM MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SLEEP WITH SO MUCH LIGHT. MY SUGGESTION IS THAT THEY INSTALL BLINDS THAT LOCKS LIGHT OR DARK CURTAINS.
I LOVED THE LIVING ROOM AND THE OEPN KITCHEN. WE ENJOYED OUR BREAKFAST IN THE BEAUTIFUL DINING AREA.

The blinds need to be fixed though. Reception needs to be visible.
Spacious rooms, friendly housekeeper and receptionist. The decor in every room is like one was there to give guidance on what needs to be done. A quiet and peaceful location. Should offer visitors some advice on areas they can visit around the location next time as a courtesy. Thanks to your excellent team who were able to inform us of an important document we left in the rooms and offered to deliver it to Joburg free of charge. Very honest staff indeed, should keep it up

The house is big & nice but not well maintained , the towel they gave us are old , gave us few towels while we were 8in a room , towel were full of stains , the is no hand washing soap in all bathrooms , blinds are not closing properly , those blinds need to be changed all of them , the kitchen doesn’t not have utensils needed for cooking , it’s not well equipped, the blankets are dirty , that have terrible smell ,

Training of staff to be able to respond professionally to simple enquiries would go a long way in enhancing overall experience whilst there. I had requested that a shower chair be provided and it was confirmed that it would be provided. But when I got to the apartment, there was no shower chair. I had to start following up before it was provided.

No tea cups and glasses in the kitchen, no towels provided, window blinds mostly broken so you get poor privacy.
