Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GabonIn the advertisement they talk about city view or balcony. Staff says, there is no room with this facility.
Location is in the middle of the market streets. It’s upstairs, so, don’t look down. Spacey room.

ColombiaNo mosquito nets despite being a malarial zone. Half a million people across Africa and 3,000 people in Togo die every year due to malaria. Mosquito nets are an essential component of malarial prevention. It’s unacceptable that a hotel in a Malarial zone doesn’t have mosquito nets. Hotel is centrally located but in the middle of a bustling market and difficult to find. To address this: clearer signs locating hotel from the ground. Clearer signs from the road. Mosquito nets throughout.
Staff were very attentive and pleasant. Central location.

GermanyYou get what you pay for, no five star luxuries. And yes, it's in the heart of the market area. It does get noisy and the moment you step out of the door, crowds are all around you. Everyone is friendly though, and contrary to some comments here, the place is not hard to find at all. Just follow the map and look out for the signs.
Great budget option in central Lomé. Convenient location, good A/C, option to have breakfast in the room.

SwedenOn the downside, it's a little bit noisy due to the market nearby, but it depends a lot on the room you get and the Wi-Fi is really slow.
The hotel provides a greay value for the price. First, it has air condioned rooms with private bathroom with even a provided towel. Second, the location is amazing, being very central and offering great access to Aflao or other farther places by public transit. Third, the staff is helpful and knowledgeable.

South AfricaIt was falsely advertised as a beachfront property but it’s not. It’s right in the middle of the market! It was very hard to find! We had to ask for the hot water to be switched on and still had to shower with cold water the next day. They do not take any form of card payment so we had to beg to check in first then go withdraw money and pay for the room. There is no mini fridge and no cupboard/closet to put your stuff.
It was clean and the lady at the front desk was a bit friendly.

GermanyThe lady at reception refused to give me my change back! She claimed if you work with foreigners and you dont have change, the change is automatically a tip! The next morning we had to check out at 6am, of which we informed here before. There was absolutely no one at reception to do the checkout. The hotel is in the middle of the market. The entrance cant be found since there are no signs. Its very loud and messy and leaving the hotel you will be harassed by people trying to sell stuff.
The rooms are ok. Thats it!

UgandaThere was no breakfast and the location was in a noisy place the entire night. Access to the room was difficulty in that there were people selling all sorts of merchandise on both sides of the road making it difficult to get access the entry of the hotel with a car. For many hours, there was no water flowing in the hotel and no power. Dinner was bought from some place along the busy street.
The staff at the reception was kind. There was no breakfast.
