How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I had a questionable pillow case (cleanliness wise). But I didn't mention this, I'm sure the host would have replaced.
Thank you for liking it here. As for the pillows, they have another cover and are replaced after washing every time. So there is no reason for you to be suspicious because all the fabrics in the room, even the ones that are bigger than the pillowcases, need to be washed again. So why can't a pillowcase that is so small be washed again?

The place was Very dingy and had quite a musk to it. Bathrooms Were 2 stories from our room. Room was very small and stuffy. Blankets looked like they’d never seen a washing machine and the room had never had a dust. Feeling bad for the tiny fan trying to cool the stuffy room. Owner didn’t let us look at room before paying quite forceful and short tempered. Photos did not match.
All pictures on the website are taken from the actual location. We have 50 rooms that can accommodate up to 100 guests per day. If all the pictures are posted, there will probably be 1,000 pictures. Therefore, if you or anyone is the owner, you will probably only choose beautiful pictures to post on the website. It's like taking pictures of people. You have to choose pictures of faces. Did anyone choose feet or butts to post? The fact that the 2 of you chose a room for 175 / room, an average of 87.5 baht per person, is too cheap for you to take advantage of a luxurious place that is clean in every way. If you choose that way, how much will you have to pay? We are happy for you to cancel and want you to try changing to a more expensive and beautiful room. But you still insist on paying for the cheap room you booked. So when you are satisfied, why pay for that cheap room? Then why complain? Have you ever wondered why no one loves you and never will?

Rooms were conjusted and mess. Bedding was not clean. Bathrooms were down stairs. Bathroom on the same floor with dormitory was not working. Owner said that it will be working soon in next two three days. So I hope it's working now. Overall the place was a mess and dirty. But the property say that we are the cheapest so don't give us bed reviews. I have got very good hostel for the same price so I'm not agree that being cheap means dirty.
Our accommodation is a very cheap accommodation, and the price difference is 15 prices. So if you choose the cheapest price, you have to use a shared bathroom. So it is normal that there are things you don't like. If you choose a room with a private bathroom, it is different from using a shared bathroom. So you are right to dislike it. The day you chose the room you stayed, why was the room you chose full? If it is really as bad as you criticized, so not everyone likes or dislikes the same thing. You should go back to your country to criticize and find a way to fix it. The various foods on YouTube that I often see in your country are unsanitary, using rusty equipment, cooking such as ice, cooking with bare hands, without wearing gloves, or eating with bare hands, like 1,000 years ago, but I still see people in your country doing that.

Verified reviewI book last minute the capsule 1 on my motorbike trip, small individual room of only the space of the bed. I didn't need it anymore so was great for me. As nights are colder in chiang rai compared to other places in thailand only a small fan was perfect (on the night not even needed). I got place to charge my phone by the bed, wifi and even a place to replenish drinking water. One thing that was unexpected and very special is that when i hanged out with the door open a very sweet cat came to hang out with me for a while :) that wouldn't happen anywhere else. Common spaces were pretty unique and special vibe. The matress was hard for my standards but i slept really amazing, even had a cool dream about the place. Its not a 5* hotel, but its a comfortable place to stay. I forgot breakfast was included, at first just with a coffee and a small banana it was perfect enough but then they came with a cooked and lovely decorated breakfast they cooked for you. Let them know of you are vegetarian beforehand, as its not a "you pick the stuff at the moment" type of breakfast.
The towel i got wasn't smelling very well. But i wasn't even expecting a towel to begin with for that price, please be kind with them, they deserve to have full everyday🙏

Although I knew in advance the room would be small, my backpack barely got through the door... however, I maneged to fit everything in there so for a short stay it is fine.
The word capsule, everyone who can read must know its size is small and we have lockers big enough to store the bags of all guests who choose capsule rooms (private rooms) and the bathroom is very close and good enough, worth the price of 194/night with hot water, cold water, bananas for free, definitely worth it. If anyone thinks my room is bad, let anyone try to do the hotel business by themselves and set the price of 194/night. If anyone can do it, then come and criticize that mine is bad. Just their breakfast should be more expensive than my room rate. Thank you for your fair opinion and very sorry for the bad opinion.

Verified reviewNot including breakfast, but the coffee and water were available throughout the day, and in the morning, bananas and biscuits were placed on the table. The bathroom and toilet were clean. Considering the price I paid, it was good. The staff were very kind and nice.
The building was old.It could have been cleaner.
Because our building is old, it is cheap like this. But if our building was new or newly built, you and many others who like cheap prices would not stay here. The people who come to stay at our place are lucky.

Verified review- Superfriendly staff. - Great value for money. - It's only a 15 min. walk to Bus Terminal 1. From there, I took the local bus to the White Temple and Black Temple (for only 20 baht). - Free coffee and bananas in the morning. - I booked the small room. It was enough for me to sleep. (There is a big locker for your backpack.) So all good! 🙏
