How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Although staff were initially welcoming, on the day of check out we were sat around the pool on chairs before we were leaving the hotel and kept getting stared at and pointed from several members of staff. After 20 minutes we were told we could not have our own water on the premises which is understandable but this should have been mentioned instead of being stared at. After getting In the pool I was approached and asked if I was staying at the hotel I explained I had and was going to check out.
Location was great, in the centre of Chaweng. Bed was very comfortable, view was great from the room overlooking the pool and sea. Food from restraunt was also nice.

Very noisy until 2.00 am
Its location ocean front and close to everything, the rooms are really nice , good size, very comfortable , nice decoration , soft bed

Great structure/venue with hotel, beach, beach club with swimming pool, restaurant, disco & bars. Rooms large and clean. Not to mention a parking for cars and one for scooters. NOT TO BE MISSED in KOH SAMUI !!

Very well located ,everything was great the fire shows were nice and the ambiance was lively with parties every night. The only funny part was the DJ playing the same playlist every night hahaha The staff were also very nice and friendly. Overall, it was a great stay

I’ve stayed at the Ark Bar many times over many years - and although things change, things always change, it still delivers in line with expectations, and the beds are super comfy. I mean it’s loud, but it’s the Ark Bar, sometimes the guests can out shout the base at 2am…but no biggie 😎

Our room overlooked the pool, they were fully booked so couldn't be moved but it was CRAZY loud every night until 2am. The DJ might aswell have been on our balcony!
Clean, great location, lovely pool and bar area. Easy parking for scooter. Easy 2 minute walk to bars and restaurants. Nice, friendly staff.

room was very big, but room facilities were "just what needed" not much taste in my opinion, matress "just OK", bathroom "just OK" etc. also i asked for the more expensive room with a "pool view" and it was 10 meters from the pool and is noisy. they did say that, but only after i booked...it might be good though for families and guests that are in the "scene" all the time
i came for one night just to catch a flight the next morning. the place is in the heart of everything, so if you like the buzz it is perfect. as well the hotel has all facilities young kids want (pool, swimming pools, on the beach, pool bar etc). it is suitable for teenagers and families with young kids. my room was very big

The shower I had in my room was really bad. But other than that everything was great.

Room was full of ants crawling everywhere, lost my appetite.

Pool area mattresses lacking in hygiene and beach area could be a bit cleaner , like bins, water taps by the stairs , bar area. As for hotel guests, could be some exclusive area regarding seats and beds by the pool, just because when everyone from different places comes in and uses those facilities it is difficult to find the spot to sit on. So that’s is very important as guests who pays for hotel didn’t get to use its advantages.
Very good location , looked simple ar first at the reception, but rooms were exceptionally comfortable with little things that could be improved, like paint after refurbishment was still in some places or some cosmetic things in the bathroom, but it is minor. Beautiful furniture and interior, very comfortable beds cleaning services exceptional , amazing plants and looked after territory around living area. Very good entertainment , deejaying and service.
