Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandIt’s a little oldish in style, but for the price I don’t really care.
Super convenient location near the bus station and clock tower. The owner is super friendly. It is in a garden and extremely quiet. Great value.

ItalyThe room was essential with a double bed, a small rack for my clothes and a private bathroom. Towels were provided. It is facing a peaceful garden with friendly cats walking around. Only breakfast is provided, at 100 bath each. The accommodation is in a quiet location, close to the centre of Chang Rai and with supermarkets and restaurants at a walkable distance.

AustriaRoom/Furniture was a bit old. But it was clean and had a comfortable style.
The room was big with everything you need! You can also use the big green garden they have. The staff was really nice and always available. They were so helpful and even brought me some fresh fruit! It felt like home. The price is also very good!

United KingdomThe WiFi didn't reach my room so I had to sit outside and get bitten by bugs.
The guesthouse is in a pretty garden, just 10 mins walk from bus station and night market. The room was simple but clean with fan only. I think the owner lived opposite? Nice outdoor spaces. My room was in the corner, so it was very private with table and chairs outside.

United KingdomThe mosquito nets were damaged and wouldn't all close properly, so we had quite a few in our room. It would be better if the room was cleaned daily, or at least the bins changed daily. The guest house is set back off a main road which seems to be the red light district area. It's not a big deal, but if you're a man, you will get heckled, and it might make some travellers feel a bit uncomfortable.
The room is basic but spacious with a comfortable bed and has everything you need. The outdoor space is fantastic and great to relax in. The location is walking distance from night markets/clock tower.

AustraliaIt was a bit of a hike to walk up to the rooms. You need to be able to climb hills. There is a shuttle, but it can’t take you to the top.
You really never have to leave. People lovely, Mr shuttle driver was the best!!! The room was perfect. We had a spa balcony room. The view from the cafe is worth watching a few sunsets. Excellent thanks for looking after us.

CanadaWe liked our stay. Of course being an old house, wooden walls have no noise insulation so depending on your neighbours it might get a bit noisy at night. We had no problem during our stay.
Very central location with a lovely garden and friendly cats. We had a room in a beautiful old wooden house with a lot of charm and only 4 rooms. Nice common spaces in the house including a shared kitchen with microwave and kettle but no cooktop. Everything was clean. It was a good value.

AustraliaThe walls are quite thin and you could your neighbours especially well when both of you were using the bathroom, since they are adjacent and fly screen exposes both to the back side of the rooms. The location is quite central which may bother some at night, especially on weekends as music can be heard from bars nearby.
The best part about staying here was the friendly, warm and helpful staff. They put us in a room with bunk beds because I requested separate beds if possible - which was nice because I didn't have to share a double bed with my friend, still got A/C, and didn't have to share a room with others! The staff also recommended things to do, including going to a Lunar New Year parade which was on at the time as well as an incredible fair that we never would have known about otherwise! The garden is lovely and serene and the cats are so gorgeous. We also had a really nice breakfast there.

United KingdomAs mentioned by others, the rooms leak noise so you can hear neighbours, people going about their business, and the nightlife. Not a huge deal but worth noting if you’re a light sleeper
We loved the cats that roamed the garden and their cute little overnight houses. Staff were super helpful and welcoming. Great location for the bus stop and night market, also super easy to get around by cab to the blue and white temples.
