How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The beach is full of rocks and almost unusable

From the overall tranquility of our private bay to the authentic Thai cuisine at our signature Thai restaurant, Saffron, to the variety of complimentary activities on offer; it is wonderful that each combined to create a memorable stay for you. I have already passed along your comments regarding the service to your Villa Host as well as our entire team as recognition for their hard work and to serve as added motivation to continue delivering the highest of standards which is a trademark of our brand. While our beach does have rocks in the seabed, common terrain in most bays on Samui, we do provide protective shoes for our guests should they care to take this precautionary measure while they swim and have a few channels that make it easy to access the deeper areas just off the shore. In recent years, these rocks were covered with sand, but the conditions changed after a recent tropical storm. We hope that with the monsoon season later this year that the conditions may return to their usual state and provide an enhanced experience for our guests. Verified reviewThe staff were excellent, especially our host Nicha. The villas were very well appointed and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was great and Saffron restaurant was excellent. The beach was beautiful but water was very rocky and difficult to enter.
The resort was remote and did not offer a shuttle bus service to closest village for shopping at Chawang. beach. The taxi service was very expensive.

Kindly note that our designated smoking areas are in accordance with Thailand laws which state that smoking is not permitted in public areas where you individuals are in close proximity to others such as our beach or the terrace of the restaurant despite these being outdoor venues. The permitted area must be five metres away from the entrance/exit of any given venue. I regret that you felt certain areas of the resort could be improved. I appreciate your constructive feedback as this allows us to fine tune our resort to make it even better and we shall take this into consideration during future renovations. Our guests are typically surprised to learn that our resort is 14 years old - having opened on 1 July, 2010 - and often give praise for the overall condition of our facilities. It is unfortunate that you did not feel the same. In order to maintain a high level of quality, we have a villa and public areas maintenance program in place that functions on both a quarterly and annual basis to rectify the damages caused by guest use and weather conditions as well as to provide preventative maintenance.
