How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe luxury to have a Beach in front of your villa which is almost entirely for yourself is amazing! The villa has all you need and the local staff (Nathalie) is amazingly helpfull! I can recommend Villa Charmant to everybody.
The villa is a bit far from Chaweng and/or Lamai, but Fishermans Villages is way cozier 🤗

Verified reviewGreat luxury Vila right on the sandy beach. The communication was wanderful,.and we even got a partial refund because there was construction happening around (which is very generous as it wasn't their fault). The pool is spectacular! It is big and looks right to the beach that is just over there. Great option for a big family or for a group of up to 6 friends. Location is also very good (5min ride from fisherman's village)

Verified reviewExcellent stay at a unique property on Bangrak Beach. Rooms are sizeable and very clean. Pool was good size, very private and refreshing. Incredibly, the beach is right at the property. If you are looking for a beachfront villa with a private pool, this is a great place to stay. Beach sand was great and the water very swimmable. Hosts were excellent with great communication. Electricity charge was very low as this time of year we did not use the AC very much at all. Lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance.

Verified reviewThe views from the villa are absolutely out of this world. Such a wonderful villa in a wonderful location on one of the best beaches which was pretty much empty of people! There is fab Wi-Fi, a good provision of cutlery and crockery plus sunbeds & two canoes. We also found the washing machine and outside clothes dryers a godsend. There are so many lovely places to eat walking distance from the villa - we would definitely recommend Noi Friendly and the Haveli Indian across the road, plus La Fabrique bakery which serves delicious pastries, quiches etc. Big thanks to Natalie the villa manager who was super friendly and helpful. This is a real home away from home and we loved our stay here.
We found it difficult to shower in the master bedroom as there was no curtain or screen (understandably so) so we usually ended up using the other showers. It may be better to replace the bath with a shower cubicle in the future, but of course some people love a bath and would complain if there wasn’t one! I also wore an eye mask at night as the room remained quite light. Otherwise it was all wonderful.

Verified reviewThis house is beautiful, big and clean! Perfect place to spend more than just few days. It’s on the beach and there are restaurants e couple shops (7-eleven) on walking distance. Less than 100m distance there are places for thai massage. At the neighbors shop you can organize a driver and it isn’t expensive. Natalie was very quick responding and helping me out on everything! She is an amazing host! Thank you
We loved everything but we find strange the pool entrance. ! There are no real steps in there, just two big rocks and you have a bigger step than a regular staircase. If you fell those rocks are high in the water and the risk is to fell straight on it. There is no handle.

Verified reviewGorgeous location right on Bang Rak beach and just a short tuk tuk ride away from Fisherman’s Village. The villa itself is lovely too! Natalie the villa manager was there to meet us when we arrived and gave us some great tips about where to go and what to do on the island. There are several great restaurants within easy walking distance and a couple of small supermarkets for when you want to eat in.
There was nothing we didn’t like - I would thoroughly recommend a stay here!
