How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The hotel is really outdated and the façade gives you a different impression of how the rooms actually are. Rooms were not very well maintained and the bathroom was merged with the shower, which made it a bit uncomfortable

Verified reviewThe best are the outdoor facilities, the location 5 minutes away from the night market and the young guys who help you with your luggage and whatever you need. Good breakfast!
The hotel is all facade, once you enter the door you notice that everything is older, darker. There is no elevator. And the cleanliness leaves much to be desired. The bathrooms are very old. There must be better hotels in Chiang Rai than this one!

Verified reviewI stayed only one night since I did the tour of the temples and my flight was leaving from Chiang Rai. The breakfast was really good and the staff super friendly. The rooms were a bit outdated but comfortable overall
The shower was literally on top of the toilet, no separation made it difficult not to slip/get my feet wet every time I used the bathroom

The room was nice despite lack of space/furniture for hanging/storing clothes. Toilet was basic but functional.

Verified reviewThe hotel is located near the bus station and the night market, also there are many restaurants around. The bathroom is quite small, but everything worked well. The swimming pool is nice, with towels etc. WiFi worked well, except for one day when it was not so good for some reason.
The hotel doesn't have an elevator, but the staff was always there to help with the bags. The view was some local house, but luckily one floor below my room

The bathroom is terrible design The shower is right next to the toilet. The toilet is up against a wall. Really not a comfortable bathroom. The first night they put me in a bed with single beds although I booked a room with one big bed. The 2nd night the bed was two single beds pushed together.

Verified reviewThe breakfast area is great. Nice breakfast in a really nice little building. Staff were very attentive and made sure we had a fresh egg or pancake dish to go with the buffet. A lot of Thailand's hotels are a bit worn down these days but compared to others we stayed at, this one was great. It's not super modern but nice for the price and outside of the rooms the hotel has a lot of charm in its design and decoration. Most of the staff were lovely, friendly and greeted the moment they saw you. The bell boys were super friendly every time they saw a guest and would go round putting little lights on the tables outside if you got any food or snacks and didn't want to eat in your room. There were also 2 super cute cats that hung round by the pool. Chasing away any birds and lizards that might interrupt you chilling out. Staff let us wait in the lobby after check out until it was time to catch a bus. There were books there and we were very comfortable. Location is great, short walk from the bus station and lots of restaurants &. Cafes.
We only chose the property because it had a pool. Pool water was green 🤢! It's the only reason we gave such a low rating because if you advertise a pool, it should be usable. Not a single person braved it, while we were there, even though it was hot enough to need a cool down. Hopefully they clean it properly, soon and future guests will be much happier Ants are super common in Thailand. We usually find a scout or two in the rooms and are super careful not to leave any sticky cups or anything out. This was probably our worst experience so far though. There's a trail in the corner of the room next to the bed so it meant we'd occasionally get an ant in bed with us. Honestly it's not usually a problem, just unfortunate that they're near the bed. If you don't leave drinks cans or anything out, you should be fine but bare in mind that there's a lot more than usual here so you need to be mindful.
