How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe VIEW was just spectacular. We spent many hours just out on the balcony of our room admiring the view. We were originally assigned a room on the lowest level which had access to the courtyard. This room felt less private and didn’t have ‘the view’. The staff at the front desk happily upgraded us for an extra charge to a room on the 3rd level and it was worth every baht. The ‘included’ breakfast was incredible. You can choose from the menu from many different options like eggs Benedict, eggs and avocado on toast, or Turkish eggs. You can also order barista made coffee which was very good. The buffet is also included which had an awesome selection of breads, pastries, fresh fruit, bacon, fresh vegetables etc. They had a rotating selection of little desserts including mini mango and sticky rice dishes. The shuttle was easy to book and very useful. They would drop us off at the 7-eleven and sometimes even wait for us to do our shopping :) Grab/bolt and Grab food was available to use from Code Samui.
The pool is beautiful and also has a great view and plenty of seats. However understandably was very busy with the hotel guests. The rooms kind of look over the pool so you can see if it is a quiet time down there to go have a swim if you like you prefer privacy. There is a sauna and steam room which I used. They aren’t turned on all the time. Guests have to turn them on themselves and wait for them to warm up, then turn them off when they get out. The jacuzzi wasn’t warm and looked quite dirty when I had a closer look (and I couldn’t figure out how to turn it on). It’s just not what I was expecting from what is otherwise a perfect property. It would be nice for the jacuzzi to be hot and bubbling for guests to just hop right in to, especially because it’s advertised as a facility. It’s also kind of far from the rooms so to walk down and find it off is a bit disappointing.

Verified reviewThe modern look and feel, the remote location and the relaxing atmosphere
Nothing, although I wish the bar was closer to the pool area as it would have got utilised more or add the QR code to the tables by the pool/sun loungers so you can order a drink without moving.

Verified reviewThe breakfast was varied by day with the option of eggs as a kitchen order (poached, fried, omelet, eggs Benedict) we only had the options of breakfast twice during our stay- we were only offered eggs from the kitchen on the first day, service was very ‘island’, which you come to expect from some places in Koh Samui, although not the norm. The view from the penthouse was exceptional. And they did a bed arrangement which was beautiful to celebrate our honeymoon
The number of steps up to the room was unexpected for the price paid… we were helped with our luggage and they appeared to have taken it through the service lift, which was necessary as otherwise we wouldn’t have got them up to the room. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have slept in for a long time, that combined with inadequate air conditioning (make sure you get two room keys so it can be on all day in preparation for your return to the room) The kitchen as dated, cupboard doors peeling etc, although when the bathroom sink tap broke they were quick to fix it. The plug sockets are poorly placed for using any kind of adapter and we had to use the bathroom plug for the duration of our stay, directly by the sink, as it was the only one that an adapter and then a charger could fit into without falling out. Check out was a nightmare, but I accept we should have let them know our onward travel plans sooner- as there was no one able to access the safe to return our security deposit prior to 6.30am or any support available after 10pm, which isn’t made clear.

Verified reviewThe staff at this hotel were absolutely wonderful. When I wasn’t feeling well and even collapsed, they all took care of me with such kindness and attention. I’ve actually been staying here to focus on writing my manuscript, so I spent most of my time holed up in my room. But thanks to everyone’s incredible support, I was able to work comfortably and peacefully. I’m truly grateful. Thank you so much.

Verified reviewStaff was World Class in accomadating my physical disabilities. They even ran to my aid with an umbrella when it rained! I never had to carry a suitcase or bags my entire stay, And I had quite a few. The view took me away in the paradise I was actually in. It was spectacular! I had a pool side room for my 8 nights, with a private balcony overlooking the ocean. The grounds were immaculate and I enjoyed watching the groundws keeper perform his duty with so much joy and pride of workmanship. The staff ALWAYS greeted me with bright shiny smiles. My room was spotless and made up for me each day on my return. The mini bar was always stocked to my bewilderment. My bed was comfy and inviting with fresh picked plumeria flowers on the spread. The breakfasts were beyond exceptional. I have never in my life seen such an exquisite morning spread as they put on in their resturant. You could literally have any and everything you can think of, and then some. I didn't want to leave it to come back home, as they made me feel like royalty. I have never been treated so well anywhere in my life as at the Code Samui. Im going back! Oh, I can't forget-when you go, you have to book a full body Thai Massage or a believe foot massage at their NUT SPA. I promise you will walk away enlightened and rejuvenated.
the Code exceeded my expectations. No improvement neccessary.

Verified reviewThe place was beautiful and very peaceful. We were pleasantly surprised by the two saunas that were available free of charge. The infinity pool was stunning. The breakfast was basic but good, and the cleaning standards were high. Overall, we enjoyed our stay—thank you!
I was disappointed that the pool doesn’t get sunlight all day; instead, the sun only reaches it from behind the building. There were a few sun loungers by the pool where the sun did shine, but they were almost always reserved every morning. This was a letdown as we wanted to relax in the sun. The hotel room looked bigger in the pictures. The breakfast also repeated itself, and it would have been nice to see more variety.
