Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Breakfast was delicious every morning, and you can tell how much thought went into every little detail. Plus, the sunsets here are absolutely perfect every night—something you have to see to believe. GermanyAt the moment, there is some construction happening as they expand with new bungalows. While the noise was limited and didn’t bother us too much, it’s something to be aware of. It’s likely to be a great addition in the future, but for now, there might be some occasional disturbances. Also, the AC works and cools the room but is rather loud, so we could not enjoy the quiet and jungle sounds as much at night - but you can obviously decide for yourself if you prefer it to be cold or quiet :) Also, one thing to keep in mind - especially if visiting in the rainy season - is that the deluxe bungalows come with an outdoor bathroom. It adds to the natural, open-air experience, but it’s good to know in advance. We loved it though!
If you’re looking for a quiet and calm retreat away from the busier parts of the island, Drifter’s Anchor is a fantastic choice. Nestled up the mountain, it does require climbing a few steep stairs, but the reward is absolutely worth it. We booked one of the two deluxe bungalows (the ones with direct view at the ocean, outdoor bathrooms and AC) and it was very nice. The glass front and spacious balcony - with a bathtub overlooking the ocean - are really cool. Waking up to that view every morning was simply magical. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and everything is kept clean (but of course it’s in the middle of nature, so don’t be suprised if you find some bugs flying around). While the bungalows are not brand-new, they are well-maintained, nicely prepared, and full of charm. Down the hill you can find some excellent street food options and a beach close by. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful, assisting with luggage and making sure everything runs smoothly. Communication was quick and easy, which made our stay even more enjoyable. In fact, we ended up coming back after checking out because our next accommodation didn’t work out - Drifter’s Anchor welcomed us back with no hassle, which we really appreciated. A special mention has to go to the breakfast. The fresh fruit selection was amazing, busts a the fried egg on avocado toast. It was a great way to start the day in such a beautiful setting.

SwitzerlandGreat place! The place has at the moment only 4 bungalows, so very relaxing! Just about 15 min walk to the beach. We had a wonderful stay at the Drifters Anchor! Wonderful view, great breakfast, great staff/owner !! Ben the owner also made a very nice birthday basket with cake and champagne for my husbands day. As its a 10min hike up to the Drifters Anchor, the staff will pickup your luggage down at the mainstreet. We will definitely come back !!

First of all, I would like to say that it is an exceptional accommodation. We always used the way up as training. The accommodation itself was simply brilliant if you are looking for peace and quiet, away from mass tourism. The view from the terrace, the evening swim on the terrace were real highlights. When we had to leave, it was not easy for us. Ben, the owner, is a very nice and cool person. He helped us with everything, you couldn't do better. We looked forward to breakfast every day. If you are looking for something special, this is the right place. Ben, we'll see you again 😊

FinlandYou have to work for the view, climbing up the steps to get to the bungalow was a sweaty business! We were told that there is normally a person to help carry your luggage, but that day that person wasn't available. Also we got to check in couple of hours late, because the cleaning was behind. There's no staff around after 5pm.
The bungalows have a great view. Loved the option to have brekkie on our own terrace.

GermanyWe got a bungalow that was a little old, there was quite a bit of Gecko droppings (I guess this is common in Thailand).

CanadaPerfect don’t change anything!
Drifters anchor was by far the highlight of our Thailand trip! This resort gave us the privacy and best views we’ve ever seen in our travels throughout Asia! Our cute modern bungalow was nestled in the jungle overlooking the sea with a perfect sunset every night! The staff was perfect, friendly helping us with our every need, breakfast was beyond expectation (very hard to find in Thailand) fresh fruit and great coffee! We enjoyed the walk to the resort through the jungle.. makes for a quiet romantic stay! 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting Koh Chang!

GermanyIf you are only coming to Koh Chang for one thing, you should come to stay a night at Drifters Anchor. The views are clearly the best we have had anywhere on the island. Watching the sunset from your balcony while having an amazing meal is nothing short of spectacular. Last but not least Ben is the friendliest host you can think of, he even accompanied us to an awesome night out. Definitely recommended.

IsraelNice place but very far from the description. On the day of our arrival, we received an email saying the access to the hotel is by a climb of 150 stairs. The parking, unlike specified, is not a private parking at the premises, but rather just the ability to find parking space in the street before starting the hike up. The room is very special and has a great view, but again, unlike the description - has no air conditioning, just fans. The owner claims AC is not possible in a bamboo-walled room. Cleanliness also not amazing - an old towel and a wrapping of hygienic product were left when we entered the room. Breakfast is very nice. We wanted to pay with credit card, they charge 7% commission! Overall, this is a nice place but is described as 5 star hotel - not even close.

GermanyIt’s basically on top of a hill. Walking is quiet a journey. Wouldn’t recommend if ur not in a good condition. Also it does look nice, but in my case the the outdoor bathtub was cold and missed closure. My bathroom was outside with no roof which is kind of bad when u wanna go to the toilet at night if it rains. Also theres no food at night unless u walk down the hill into town which takes quiet a while. I think for what they offer its way overpriced.
The location itself is pretty and the view is nice

ThailandThe hotel is on the top of an hill and you cannot access it by car. You have to walk up stairs and a trail to reach the bungalows. If you are disabled you simply cannot get there. I did not like the fact there was no information about it. Furthermore it is said there is air conditioning and there is none: because of that detail important for one person of the group ( not for me) we were obliged to shorten our stay
Great view. Very nice staff. The owners are young and nice.
