Very minor issue and didn’t really bother us, but given that you are staying in the rural areas you do sometimes have ‘guests’ which can make it inside the room. Maybe just need to seal some gaps.

View from the bungalow was idyllic. Rooms were large, large comfortable beds and bathrooms were also huge, with a bath with ocean view if you wanted it. AC worked well. Really quiet and peaceful setting to switch off. What really makes this place is the Hostess/Manager ‘Pond’ and her team of staff. They could not do enough for you and Pond was more than happy to arrange boat trips at local prices (they also provided a great packed lunch free of charge to take with us), taxis, laundry service was reasonable price and quick turnaround. Breakfast was also provided and was HUGE. She was happy to keep a running total for any extras during our stay and we could pay by card at the end (a lot of the ATM’s on the island do not work). Honestly she was wonderful and has been the highlight of our holiday so far.

Our bidet was broken but in the grand scheme of things, that was a minor thing.

Remote and peaceful. Just you and nature. Quiet. Romantic. Front desk lady super kind and helpful. Offered us longtail boat trip with local for 1400 baht each which we enjoyed.

My hud had no aircon and it was too hot with just 2 fans. I had geckos in the bedroom, ants in the shower and other animals inside my room that were quite noisy and moving, so I could not sleep 1 night. 1st dinner was freshly made, 2nd were not good. Breakfast was ok. Taxi booking is overpriced

The bungalow was beautiful, built with solid timber and great attention to detail. It felt both cosy and well-crafted, with a stunning view and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. What truly stood out was the staff, incredibly kind, attentive, and always going above and beyond. They work so hard and genuinely make the experience special. I’d definitely recommend this place and would love to come back.

Really amazing place! Very clean and beautiful. The staff are lovely and helpful, the food in the restaurant is great! Loved the room and the view! 100% recommend! The island is very peaceful, but its easy to get around with scooters or even bike. I went on a snorkelling trip through the hotel and it was the best experience!

Private beach - very dirty (plastic cans, bottles next to the shore or in the water). You can't swim there or just lay down and chill. Everyone was going to another beach which is not so near. The restaurant food - okay, but it took from 45min to 1.15h to bring a regular thai meal..

The view from the room was amazing, bed was very comfortable (I like when it is not super soft), staff was helpful, shower worked perfectly fine. Moreover, lots of cats, they were very friendly.

Loved our stay at Esmeralda, We extended our stay here almost as soon as we arrived. Pon (the manager) was so kind and helpful. They even had a bunch of games for the kids to play. Def recommend getting a scooter and exploring the beaches and island.

Everything was exceptional from the reception to the scooter rentals, tour booking and the room. Bon, who works at reception, is a national treasure. She made our stay outstanding and we will be coming back to visit her specifically!!

The pillows and bed could have been a little softer. A lamp would have been very nice in the cabin and a table and chairs on the porch would have been great. The beach area needs some love. But overall it was excellent!

We loved it here. The cabins were and the property were beautiful and serene. The staff are lovely and the cats were friendly. We really enjoyed staying here and would definitely come back.

The views were amazing the whole resort is set out to make it feel like you are on your own it is so peaceful and quiet we had been to 3 different locations in Thailand all busy places and this was our downtime it worked perfectly for us all the staff were so nice and friendly and lady on reception is very helpful we only ate once in the restaurant but food was very good we just like to try different places if you go here you will need a scooter to get around it’s about 300 baht per day not many resorts are in the villages but the roads are so quiet it’s not a problem and lots of places do sidecar too we found lots of nice beaches nearly to ourselves there is no overcrowding at this resort there is an honesty book if you get anything water drinks etc write it in and pay at the end and they do accept cards bear in mind the whole of Koh Yao Yai is 90% Muslim so although some eating places serve alcoholic drinks not all do and you can’t buy it from 7/11 we managed to find a family shop and 9 square sell it we stayed 8 nights and thought that was long enough there is activities to do but we just chilled
