Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ColombiaIt is a good place, with a very good location, a little old building, but it didn't matter. They rent a motorbike at a reasonable price.

Taiwan1. would be nice if there's shelf to put stuff at the toilet 2. since i had a scooter, it's easy for me to get around but not sure for those who don't
1. The owners are super nice! 2. the cats for sure! 3. the breakfast and they make scramble eggs for you * the sat night market is near and do go to sat or sun night markets instead of chiangrai night market. The latter is too touristic and pricey

ChileThe location is good in the way you can get places for eating or supermarket and even the Sunday market , but is a little far from the city center or places with night life, bars or something like that.
The services and facilities were good , even the price with breakfast included was really good a friendly budget. At the beginning I booked for 3 nights and finally I extend my stay for a week, because was a perfect place to relaxing a have some break time for yourself in the case you looking for something calm and peaceful.

CanadaThe hostel is located a bit of a distance from the city centre. We were walking to the centre but if you are not in good shape you should consider renting a motorcycle or using a private taxi (Grab). If you don’t like noise, smell of weed and cigarettes, ask for the dormitory on the 1st floor. There is a common smoking area on the 2nd floor. During our stay that place was almost always occupied with folks smoking and chatting.
I really liked that hostel. The owner and her daughters were friendly and helpful. I could rent a motorcycle directly from them which was very convenient as I didn’t need to go anywhere to pick it up. The beds in the dormitory were big. The common washroom was huge. Coffee, bread and some kind of sweet margarine were provided for free round the clock. Breakfast consisted of the above plus scrambled eggs and bananas. Nice and simple! There was a Lotus’s supermarket just across the street.

United KingdomLocation was a half hour walk to/from most places, I walked 18km on my first day (but I like walking). Sadly lots of people in the communal areas were on their phones or laptops so the social vibe was low, but I imagine that’s a problem everywhere these days. I wonder if there could be a ‘phone’ area and a ‘non phone’ area to be conducive to conversation and meeting people?
The staff are lovely, as is the free breakfast. Rooms were spacious and comfortable with good air con. The bathroom facilities were great

ThailandIt is quite far to get to the bus terminal from this hostel (30 min walk) especially if you're leaving at the same time as me - I had a mild altercation with some dogs on my walk there... the toilets and showers have collected a lot of water causing the doors to swell and be difficult to close.
I stayed at this hostel for a one night stop so that I could take a slow boat to Laos. It was nice, clean and had nice staff and a lovely balcony area. I left at about 5am but there was still breakfast out for me which I really appreciated. The beds are very private as they are like little boxes.

SpainThe hostel was great value for money, there are a lot of beds in the mixed dorms but I was never disturbed, there are plenty of showers and toilets too which were generally very clean. The bed is very hard, for me that wasn’t a problem but I know for some it can be uncomfortable. The hostel is slightly out of the center of town, but easy to reach by grab/bolt. It was a nice bonus to have a fresh cooked eggs or omelette for breakfast!

United StatesI wish that when the slow boat was explained to me she would have gone more into detail about where exactly I was going and what options I had (slow boat, train, direct bus, etc)
The owner helps coordinate your slow boat to laos. Every morning she asked if I had eaten breakfast and cooked me fresh eggs. Many common areas as well to meet other travellers. Capsule style beds that are very private and plenty of lockers to keep your things safely. Overall such a pleasant and friendly vibe here.

AustraliaEverything is fine at Grace Hostel where they all work hard to keep the backpackers happy, particularly the lovely lady who makes your omelette in the morning. Better get your toast ready first because the eggs'll be there in a flash! Plenty of communal area to sit and eat breakfast and almost as many bathrooms as beds. Coffee, tea and even drinking chocolate all day and bananas too. Unusual these days when it's all about the WiFi and the dollar. Thanks for the memories Grace!

ItalyWe stayed at Grace hostel for 5 nights and it was lovely. It is a bit outside the city center but you can rent a scooter at the property which is cheap enough. The rooms and the toilets are spacious and on the price you have breakfast included (eggs and toast, bananas and coffee and tea). The owner is lovely and helpful. The atmosphere at hostel is really nice especially downstairs at the cafe. Highly recommend if you are looking to relax and be outside the city.
