Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only thing is that the beach is lovely, but the water is smelly along this stretch. It has a weird silt like on the floor, and as you walk in it, it feels slimy and, when disturbed, release an unpleasant smell.
Location and facitlies as you would expect. We only stopped for two nights, but it met all of our expectations. You should definitely head out to the right of the hotel for little and local reaturants for food. We did venture down to the fisherman's village, but we found it too mainstream. I'm not saying avoid as the area is well catered and has lovely reaturants with a busy vibe.

United KingdomThe balcony was tiny and the seats needed a clean but apart from that we loved our stay.
The location was great, just on the beach and close to fisherman's village. It was quiet, so we slept well. It had all the amenities around, such as 7-11, laundry, restaurants, which was useful. Staff were very helpful and we could book our catamaran to Koh Tao from there. Was great to have a gym too. Would definitely stay again.

AustraliaI was supposed to have a room with a sea view, but even though the windows faced the sea, the view was covered by the building in front and the trees. The sea was barely visible, so I would not call this room a “sea view”.
Clean room, very comfortable bed, nice pool.

IrelandThe staff were not very friendly. The place lacked the hospitality that you get from people in small local restaurants etc. I feel they were under pressure to sell, sell, sell. Happy hour was quite annoying, where they played awful music and kept trying to give us menus for drinks. We went to “steak night” at the hotel one night. It was a total waste of money. Advertised certain steaks which weren’t available. There was a very poor choice of sides etc. to go with the mains. It was so overpriced and of poor quality. The food there is good, but very overpriced. We had breakfast there on two mornings. It was quite good.
The rooms were lovely and the beds were very comfortable. The pool area is nice but pools are small. Some sun beds face out to the sea, which is lovely. But you cannot swim in the sea. There is a thick slimy algae there all the time.

United StatesThe breakfast could be improved and the rooms are tiny. But I think it evens out with the price point.
It's in a great location and is a beachfront property. It's super kid-friendly.

United StatesThe room was tiny -- everything maximized for space constrictions, but I would have liked more room to put my stuff, sit down and write, and just have room to move around. And although there are 2 chairs on the balcony, it's so small you can't actually put both of the chairs out, they just have to be stacked on top of each other.
The facility is beautiful. It feels very relaxing at the poolside and on the beach. Away from the hubbub of the street outside. The staff was friendly.

IsraelGreat Hotel in Bophut, Koh Samui – Would Definitely Return! We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel in the Bophut area of Koh Samui. We chose to stay without breakfast, and still thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The pool was fantastic, and the staff were kind and helpful throughout our stay. While the hotel is a bit removed from the main central areas, it’s nothing that can’t be easily solved with a quick tuk-tuk ride or a scooter. Overall, a great experience – and without a doubt, we would love to come back again!

United StatesLike IBIS Bangkok, rooms could use a better chair for relaxing when not out and about.
Beach is limited but swim-able. Some minor pollution because of all the boats moored off the beach. Pool and bar facilities were very good. The lobby concierge was very good at arranging local tours.

Hotel is right on the beach. I had a great view looking over the pools and beyond to the sea. You can walk along the beach to Fisherman’s Market in approximately 30 minutes or stop along the way at one of the other hotels. You can also walk along the road to Fisherman’s (it’s not the scenic route but there are shops, bars and cafes). Shower was powerful. Room is compact but light, bright and clean.
