We were originally just looking for affordable accommodation for our stay on Koh Chang, but what we found at Lonely Groove was so much more — it felt like discovering a second home and becoming part of a Thai family. Our deepest thanks go to the two sisters, Ratcha and Lemon, who have created a place with such a special atmosphere — it’s hard to describe in words; you simply have to experience it for yourself! The bungalows are simple but spotlessly clean. Some bungalows have air conditioning, while others come with a fan. Each one has sliding windows with built-in insect screens. There are ceiling hooks above the beds so you can hang your own mosquito net — which we’d recommend if you’re sensitive to insects, since the bathroom design can’t completely keep them out (but that’s totally normal for this price range in Asia). Each bungalow also comes with fast Wi-Fi, a small terrace with a hammock and a bench overlooking a peaceful garden full of mango and banana trees. There’s also a large communal area where you can hang out with the hosts and other guests. Food and drinks are available at prices well below the island average, and we highly recommend trying everything on the menu. The dishes Ratcha prepares herself are incredibly delicious and authentically Thai. Laundry service is available, — clothes came back super comfortable, all at a very fair price. But what truly makes this place special isn’t the facilities or the location — it’s the hosts themselves. Ratcha and Lemon are incredibly warm and generous, welcoming strangers as if they’d known them for years. Any language barriers quickly disappear thanks to their open-hearted nature. We got a real sense of what it means to connect with people from the heart — and in that sense, Lemon and Ratcha are true role models to us. There’s something about their warm and open nature that seems to magically attract similar people. We had a lot of meaningful conversations with them and other wonderful people.

The hosts are just amazing!! Wonderful people, great souls. We needed an urgent accomodation and they were sooo welcoming and helpful from the first minute. Bug plus that they speak English very well! The food is so delicious, they make you feel like you are home. They also did our laundry and it was just such a great service. We even got a good bye hug. I would definitely stay here again.

The hosts were extremely welcoming and very helpful. We truly felt like home from the first moment. The location is just perfect for a chill holiday- 3 min to the beach and a few cafes and restaurants but not more than that ☺️😍

Amazing people! Lemon is the cutest person on earth, and her sister is absolutely amazing chef ! We spend many hours talking about Thai culture and life, we really appreciated that. Also so cute monkeys and cats there. We felt very home there. Amazing experiance! Thank you Lemon!

Lovely family run this place. Close to great beach. Nice quiet area and relaxing. Would stay again

We've stayed here before, and loved it the first time. The accommodation is a small hut, but it has what you need: A/C, shower, wifi, etc. We took our own travel kettle, but there is tea, coffee etc always available in reception. The location is perfect, the hosts are delightful, and you are soon making new friends. If I was ever in a position to be a ''digital nomad'', this is where I'd like to live!

The blanket on the bed could do with being a bit bigger, or have more than one provided.

The owners are wonderful, very friendly and will help with anything. Lovely peaceful setting and accommodation very clean. Very close to the beach and awesome cafe, Mandala, with amazing all day breakfast just a few metres down the road.

Freezer for Guest so everyone have a Place to Store Food, ICE and Drinks would be amazing. But still 10/10

The staff and the surrounding area are incredible.

The beach and the streets are very dirty, with rubbish overflowing everywhere and plastic in the beach and water.

Lemon and her sister are so lovely and friendly people! You only could enjoy being there! The food which they offer is of very good quality! We will come back!

Koh Chang is a beautiful island—not only is the island itself lovely but so are the people who live there. No exception at Lonely Groove: Lemon and her sister were so happy, kind and caring, their big smiles and warmth reminded me of being at home with my mom. I felt safe and comfortable my entire stay. I loved chatting to them before heading out to explore or after coming back from a long day in the sun. Some notes: the bungalows are further inland which means less foot traffic and noise from other hotels/bars; it's peaceful, quiet and clean; the beach is less than five minutes away (stop by all cafes/restaurants on the way to/from the beach!); my bungalow was modest and roomy, had all the necessities, including a mosquito net, and aircon didn't cost much more; hammock on the outside patio; watch out for monkeys who want to take your food! I would love to come back.

The hosts are amazing, very hospitable. Fantastic delicious food for lunch or dinner. Convenient location, quick walk to the beach. Close to good cafe for breakfast. Good water pressure, laundry service available.

I accidentally booked one room without Aircon. It was a bit too hot to be inside the room with just a fan during the day, so next time I'll make sure I ha e Aircon room.
