Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ThailandRoom wall is not sound proof, you can hear voice and noisy from outside. Smoke from their cooking leakage to the room.
Nice place and a short distance to Pang Oung by walking. Comfy bed with king size and clean. Many food shops are surrounding the guest house.

United KingdomClean, comfortable and a lovely welcoming family that run the place. It was a 1 night stop on the Mae Hong Son loop after visiting Ban Rak Thai. We arrived at night, there were a few food options available but we'd already eaten. The room was simple and cozy. Bathroom was a good size with a lovely warm shower. Everything was very clean. We were very happy with our stay.

NetherlandsWe loved every minute we spent here! If you are traveling this side of Thailand, do your self a favor and stay here instead of Ban Rak Thai. The former is an authentic, sleepy village in the middle of nowhere surrounded by a beatiful forest. The latter is a construction site, with fake Chinese architecture resorts and double the prices. Consider yourself warned 😅
Lovely place, well attended to, we stayed here for couple of nights while driving the Mae Hong Son loop. The cabins are so beautiful & clean, each with a patio, a little pond in the front, flowers everywhere.. You can see lots of love and attention has been put in the homestay. The hosts are super friendly & helpful. Decent breakfast, fast wifi, good warm shower... The surroundings are beatiful too, just a short walk from the national park & lake. Great, traditional Thai restaurant, just down the street as well.

SpainI loved this hotel owned by a family with two little lovely kids, so it is a family atmosphere when you stay there. One of the family members took me to Ban Rak Thai on his motorbike as I was alone and I cannot drive, it was a kind and lovely gesture. Every one was very attentive. I got some of the beat sleep there listening to the sounds of nature and waking up with the first rays of sun felt like being in heaven. You feel a lovely smell of flowers constantly, lots of birds, little ponds with fish. I will miss this place a lot

SingaporeHot shower worked for the 1st time and did not when I tried showering the 2nd time. The room does not really prevent the cold from getting in that well.
Stayed here a night to visit Ban Rak Thai and Pang Oung lake. Homestay has limited rooms about 11 in total. Very beautifully decorated homestay with natural trees and flowers throughout the place Room is cosy although small. Gets really cold at night during january. There is no fan and aircon in the room as it is cold at night. Good toilet and nice long dressing table, also provided water and hairdryer. Staff is friendly as they showed us to the room and passes us the wifi available. Location. Short walk to the lake and mutiple eateries though most closed by 8pm or 9pm in the evening. There is also a small bar just 2 mins walk away. Closes at 9pm.

This is the best place to stay in the area, , it’s such a sweet little bit of garden paradise with so many beautiful plants, fish ponds , cosy clean bungalows and a lovely kind family who run the place.

United KingdomWe were greeted by a young woman, who just pointed in the direction of our room, making no effort to show us. We had to keep returning to her to ask for WiFi and also to get cups. We were tired and wanted to rest, but the family's accommodation was opposite our room (room 2) and we were subjected to screaming children all afternoon. This noise got worse in the evening when the family were at home and we had to keep our curtains closed for some privacy as the family's balcony looked directly into our room (and everyone hung out on the balcony). Noise from other guests at breakfast was also intolerable, as the table was in the same area. One side of the double bed is against the wall, so it was not easy to get in or out of bed. The bed was also the hardest we have encountered. There are fly screens on the room window but the bathroom is open for bugs to enter. Hot water was hot and miss. We had breakfast (omelette) before we left, and within 6 hours, we were both violently ill! I have no expectations of this being a four star hotel, but there are much better options available.
The homestay is only five minutes walk to the reservoir. The surroundings of the Homestay are pretty.

SingaporeLinen smell strongly of floral fragrance - take a while to get used to it,
Room and bathroom is basic as expected; clean. Just fan only. Window has netting but cannot secure it, we locked up when dark. Still fine since the place get cooler at night. Seat outside for eating - we bought dinner and eat outside before dark. Heater for shower - an important consideration for us city folks since it get cold at night. Short walk way to the lake, early morning misty walk is cool, beautiful & relaxing Included Brekkie is simple and filing, asian syle.
