It’s located a little far away from the main streets of Pai. The rooms are packed with the beds and guests belongings left on the floor, with barely space to move or go to the toilet.

Funny hostel if you want to meet people before joining any of the party activities around Pai like the Tipsy Tubing (the truck comes to the hostel to pick you up). The hostel is nice, with cabanas like houses, garden and swimming pool.

Small rooms were congested. Need more showers and toilets. The ones available are shared between two dorms. Could be 16 beds and just 3 showers. No hot water available except one working. Muddy water in the taps. Needs maintenance jobs, like the bathroom doors couldn't be locked, door handles coming off. Towels weren't provided on the day of arrival. Take care of the above and you'll be the best.

Staff at front desk,the entire team at Mad Monkey. Special mention,the manager of the property who is always interacting with guests. Cleanliness at the property. The balcony/sit out in each block of rooms. The location. A short walk to the main centre, but preferred the quite in the property. Recomend the half day trip organised by the hostel,if you don't want to rent a bike. Reasonably priced. Pai bus station walkable distance. Would recommend and visit again.

The pool is under construction which leads to some noise in the morning since my room was next to the pool.

Location is good, I think the hostel will be more comfortable after the current maintenance works. Staffs were cool and friendly.

Not what we were expecting with a mad monkey, looked like it had seen some better days but it was comfortable and clean for staying a couple nights! No privacy curtains in mixed dorms, AC and hot water wasn’t working well while we were there and shower doors didn’t shut. A good inexpensive stay though.

It was over the bridge away from the main walking street, so had to either have a bike or walk an extra 10ish minutes

Had so much fun at this hostel. Had events most nights making it easy to socialise as a solo traveller. Beds were comfortable and the shared bathrooms were kept clean. Shoutout to worker Chai for being the life of the party

Easily the calmest Mad Monkey I’ve seen. Nevertheless, very friendly staff, comfy beds, nice people around, and great prices.

This review is hidden because it doesn't meet our guidelines.

No curtains so feels like you are sharing a bed with strangers. Loud calls to karoke were a lot when u just want a nap to get over your hangover. The guys were nice but if you arent looking for super organised, not so busy, events it might not be for you.

Activities were available if that was your thing, beds comfy, friendly atmosphere.

Was a bit far out from Pai centre. Place wasn't very clean and showers were cold. For a party hostel it wasn't very social - probably other party hostels if you want a social pai experience

Sraff were good and good activities run by the hostel made it simple.

Our beds and towels were dirty on arrival, the window in our dorm was broken open so insects kept coming in, showers weren’t very good and bathrooms smelt a lot

Hostel is in a good location about 15min walk from the town. Very social if you are looking to meet people. They organize events every night. Rooms were exactly what you need and staff were very friendly

It’s a bit far out of the main square (20 min walk) which was a bit of a nightmare as it’s a dark street so as a solo traveller I probably wouldn’t stay here. I ended my stay early as I didn’t want to do the walk on my own if it got dark. Bathrooms could also do with a redo as they’re a bit rank

The dorms are in bungalows which is super cool, it’s a really social hostel which will organise as much as you will let them. Staff also lovely

Female dorm had no curtains around beds so not particularly private Bathroom drains smelled funky Although I booked a female dorm, another resident brought back a male to 'stay the night'. I appreciate this happens frequently in mad monkeys but at least use the mixed dorms for noisy heavy petting... I think more obvious signs should be put up to deter this behaviour, we chose a female dorm for a reason!

Outside of Pai. The road to the hostel isn't lit at night nor are there footpaths. Rent a bike to make life easier. Be careful when coming home from the pub crawl.

Great social environment in the hostel. The staff were accommodating and helpful. Reps created a good party atmosphere. Very basic as expected for a Mad Monkey hostel

We all agreed the music and microphone needs to be quieter - the noise does stop at 12 tbf and I know it’s a party hostel but it soooo loud that we couldn’t speak to other travellers and we needed to go into our rooms to speak to each other which made it unsociable. Location is sadly a bit out of the way ☹️ I do think the purple foam seat covers in the dorm toilets weren’t the most hygienic - they can’t be wiped so if someone pees on the seat you’re kinda sat in it

The beds were really comfy - they had a real duvet (not a thin blanket) with a very soft mattress. The bathrooms were always really clean too. The lady on reception with the pretty makeup was lovely, we also loved Jimmy and Jack. They were super friendly and helpful.

Stained bedsheets and towels, not much floor room so if you’re in the top bunk you will be in the way when sorting your bag or getting anything from it, reception tried to charge us more than booking.com when we arrived (only changed it when we showed booking confirmation)
