Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThe food and drinks at the hotel are very expensive. The quality is OK, but not good value for money. The location is a bit remote so there are not many options for eating out without having to take a taxi. The shuttle from the hotel to and from chaweng is only twice a day at 13 and 16.
The hotel is beautiful, the hotel staff very nice and friendly. The view and the beach also very nice. There's a shuttle from the hotel to chaweng and back twice a day.

We loved the Melati. The property is beautiful and very relaxing. Our family pool villa was a total treat. It was perfectly clean and lovely and cool. The kids loved kids’ club. As others have said there are charges for some of the activities. We took a taxi out most evenings to Fisherman’s village which was a lot of fun. It cost about 500 baht and was easy to arrange via Grab. The two pools are fab, as is the beach - perfect white sand. The staff were excellent throughout.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn't like.
We are a family of 4 with two older teenagers. We loved everything about Melati. The grounds and accommodation are beautiful and luxurious. You have everything you need from the two lovely pools, to the two restaurants, a swim up bar, the spa and gym facilities and the beach on your doorstep. There are plenty of things to do in the resort. We enjoyed some of the themed nights with great food and entertainment and made use of the spa with a lovely Thai massage by the pool. You don't need to leave but if you do want to explore, the Fisherman's market and Chaweng beach are a short taxi trip away. The hotel also runs trips to explore Koh Samui. Most of all the staff are fantastic, taking care of everything you need with a smile. This made for a wonderful relaxing week in the sun.

AustraliaNothing to mention.
We absolutely loved every aspect of this resort — from the stunning surroundings and beautifully designed accommodations to the serene pools, exceptional restaurants, and incredibly warm, welcoming staff. Our room was nothing short of amazing. The layout was thoughtfully planned, and having our very own private pool made the experience truly luxurious. The resort’s location was another highlight. Set in a secluded part of the island, it offered peace and privacy, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in everything the resort had to offer without feeling the need to venture out. The private beach and main pool area provided hours of relaxation and fun, complete with breathtaking ocean views. The attentive staff were always nearby, ready to assist with anything we needed. There's also a beautiful adults-only garden pool, which offered a more tranquil space for unwinding and was just as impressive. We indulged in multiple spa treatments during our stay, and each massage and treatment was top-notch — some of the best we've ever had. The resort features two main restaurants offering a delicious mix of Thai and Western cuisine. We dined at both throughout our stay and were consistently impressed by the quality and flavor of every dish. In fact, the Western dishes were so well-prepared, they rivaled — and sometimes exceeded — those we've had in their countries of origin. The staff truly deserve special mention. Their warmth, friendliness, and constant smiles created a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. In-room dining was also available, which made it convenient to enjoy a peaceful breakfast or meal in the comfort of our villa. There’s a gym on-site as well. While a few of the machines could use an update, the space was clean, spacious, and well-equipped for a complete workout. This resort is a true gem, perfect for families, couples, and children alike. We were thoroughly impressed and are already looking forward to returning.

We wanted a few days of relaxation to start our 2 week holiday, so we looked for something quiet and relaxed. Mission accomplished. Excellent staff, very attentive. The welcome at hotel very friendly and professional. Cannot stress this enough, the staff are have been so nice. They were also very sweet to our 3yo daughter, which she really enjoyed. Rooms are nice and clean, the gardens you walk through to get around the resort are really well done. Everything is well taken care of. Food is great, you get Thai and continental breakfast buffet with coffee and eggs/omelet made to order. Lunch, dinner everything just really well done, food tastes great.

ChinaAlthough clean and well maintained, buildings and fittings show their age. Resort needs to bring them up to current standards and style. Biggest practical impediment: poor room lighting and no reading light. Location is a bit remote. Next village is about 30 min walk away.
Very nice layout of the property with beautiful garden scape two nice pools and nice stretch of beach. Large rooms. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast buffet with great selection and some daily variation. Good mix of guests.

AustraliaIts in a beautiful spot but a bit out of the way of anything if you wanted to do some exploring (chaweng or fishermans village etc) its about a 20min cab ride. Nearest convenience store /atm is a bit of a walk too but manageable.

AustraliaSpa prices too expensive. Upper pool not appealing and could be made better. It would be nice to have somewhere air conditioned where families and friends can meet to play cards or just sit around a table and have a drink etc.
Location next to ocean great, although a bit further from town than what some of us prefer. Breakfast and other food very good. Staff excellent.

DenmarkThe welcome issues as mentioned above. No restaurants in walking distance and very pricy restaurants at the hotel. Distance from room to pool and beach was very far with two small kids. We used the buggy service sometimes, but was still a bit annoying.
We originally booked the Grand Deluxe room, however this room had only one window and felt very dark. The "terracce" was without seatings or furnitures, which was quite a problem for us especially in the evenings, where the kids should sleep inside. We needed to find a solution and therefore had to pay an extra amount to ugrade the room to a pool Villa. This was the best decision and we really enjoyed the outside area, pool and seating. Would expect a better service from the hotel in this process. The breakfast was amazing. The room and bed was very nice. The pool and beach was also very nice. The Thai Restaurant near lobby was amazing, however very pricy. Free shuttle bus to Chaweng was nice. Golf Buggys from rooms to beach was nice.
