Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The matress was a bit hard, but totaly doable!

The toilet/shower doesn’t have a drain so the bathroom floor is soaking wet anytime anyone showers. Also bathroom was just kinda gross. But it was literally £5 a night so I can’t complain
Check in was easy, room had working AC. Got what I paid for. Location is incredible in Haad Rin (super close to beach)

The ceiling collapsed due to a storm.
The staff are the best thing about my stay at this hostel. They are some of the nicest people ever. It’s a one minute walk to beach and full moon party.

The beds have no curtains and the bathroom is dirty, but you get what you pay for. Bring an eye mask and ear plugs as music plays till late.
It's a good social, you can expect to make friends here and there is a balcony area above the bar for the guests. The owner is also very friendly and cares for her customers. There is also a pool table you can use for free in the bar.

Room was outdated and could do of some TLC, beds were very uncomfortable and not very clean . Music is loud from the bar downstairs so if your a light sleeper wouldn’t recommend . Also the room didn’t lock and the lockers were full of random stuff so couldn’t use those facilities and host warned that during full moon party people may steal so just be wary
The host couldn’t have been more welcoming if she tried! Very accommodating , helped us with the full moon and transport to the pier . Really friendly atmosphere also the gent who played pool with members of our party was lovely aswell!

Although the location was right in the middle of the moon party streets, the bar has the loudest music in the area. Beds had no privacy and were rock hard. The toilet and shower is exactly what you expect in a dingy hostel. There were lockers to use to lock stuff up but didn’t feel very safe and would never stay here again for the price we paid compared to other place we have stayed it’s not worth the £15 we paid. It was so bad the group of us decided to leave a night early and we are all so glad we did. When we arrived we were planning to not sleep cause of the party and just sleep in the day, but even then music was turned back on loud at 11 and we all felt very uncomfortable!
The staff were nice and balcony was cool.

The ac didn’t work there was a poorly maintained bathroom one shower and toilet for 10 people. The beds were rock hard. No privacy on the beds. When I tried to message about a refund they never replied. I’ve never had to move out a hostel before but this was the first time.

The bathroom downstairs had no door, half of the stay the flush upstairs wasn't working. The bathroom wasn't too nice. The AC barely covered the big room.

it was grim looking, the bar down stairs and 3 other bars right in front of it was blasting their own music. it was impossible achieve any type of relaxation or rest at all. the bathroom looked horrid. Oh and there was no key to lock the door room.

We were turned away when we arrived even though we'd booked in advance, due to "overbooking". They sent us to their sister hostel which was further from the beach, had poor reviews and was almost empty even on full moon night. At the time there were still beds available to book here on booking.com. Seems to me as a deliberate bait and switch to direct traffic to the less successful hostel by allowing over bookings and then moving them there. Would exercise caution if booking for full moon.

I was appalled to learn that a guest demanded intimacy from one of the managers, threatening to leave a bad review if she did not comply. Obviously she did not comply with this demand and the demand itself is usually considered a crime. Unfortunately, Booking.com said that the manager's refusal reflected his true experience and as such it is valid. I highly recommend contacting the property directly to book as Booking.com refuses to take women's experiences seriously and they do not deserve your money.
The staff was super friendly and readily available for assistance. The location was top notch. The place was exactly as advertised and the service really put it over the top.

booking.com told the manager she had to have sex with a guest or he could leave a negative review! I'm so disgusted by their behavior so i booked online instead of directly just so i could write this review to balance it out. Women shouldn't have to tolerate sexual harassment and abuse booking.com!!
Great little place, just a simple room above a lively bar. perfect for party people only. We had a blast with the friendly staff! Beds and bathroom are basic, but location is unbeatable!

We were shocked when we found out that a guest threatened a negative review if the manager didn't have sex with them and booking.com said that review is valid. They said if she didn't want the negative review, she should have slept with him! Insane, right??? So they have a lower review score because of some sex pest that booking.com is defending. Come for yourself and see it's good value for basic dorm and great staff - just don't grope them!
No frills party hostel a few steps from Full Moon beach! It's above a bar and budget so you don't get quiet or luxury, but you get really fun, friendly staff that take amazing care of you and a place to crash right off the beach and right in the center of the action during Full Moon Party.

the owner truly went above and beyond to make the stay as pleasant as possible. She is very caring and attentive, always ensuring that everyone feels comfortable. If you’re looking for a place with great hospitality this is a good option.

I was worried reviews said problems with water and Aircon, but I guess they fixed it, I had no problems.
This is a basic simple dorm right down the street a few meters from the beach. Definitely a party place, the bar downstairs seems to be the most popular in town. Really friendly staff, fun to party with
