How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe glamping setup was incredible. Clean , beautifully decorated and surprisingly luxurious. The beds where comfortable and waking up to the nature and the view on the beach was magical. The host David was very friendly and we where well cared for. From the very first minute upon entering it was peaceful, relaxing and exactly what me my wife and 2 children needed. Highly recommend!

We attended and had heavy rain sadly so had to leave a day early. So wouldn’t recommend booking during the rain season.
A little common sense would suggest that if camping in the rain is an issue not to book camping during Thailand’s monsoon season… you was refunded your last nights stay on a none refundable booking, already heavily discounted to compensate for the chance of rain during monsoon season, and still leave a low score on value for money? Future customers, please do not book with us if camping in the unpredictable elements of the tropics is an issue for you and will lead you to leave unjustified low scores on your reviews that are completely out of our control! Verified reviewAbsolutely gorgeous place with once in a lifetime views….they were simply jaw dropping from sunrise to sunset.This place is a dream and was so sad leaving it. Our host was wonderful and always available with any questions we had and gave us tons of recommendations for restaurants and day trips. Nature Edge is really unique and has good access to anything you need at your door steps. If you are thinking to book this place just do and you won’t regret it! Thanks so much!

Verified reviewBeautiful unique experience on Koh Tao. Really convenient location close to the pier (so good for getting your ferries) but could also walk to Sairee beach area with ease. We stayed 2 nights, the tent was really comfortable and the area where you could chill was also great. Lovely views especially in the morning and evening. Host sent loads of recommendations and was easy to contact and ask questions. There were snorkels at the property. Would definitely recommend if you aren’t spending long on Koh Tao and want a lovely place to stay which means you are still enjoying the beach views etc all the time. Also a really good massage place next door! We didn’t rent scooters but it was easy enough to get a taxi when we needed with the taxi the host recommended.
It was not a problem for us but if you are a bit afraid of insects it’s obvsiosly hard to be completely away from them, eg small red ants can come in the tent. The water pressure in the shower is quite low so just leave enough time to wash your hair :)
How utterly disappointing - We offered you early check in, late check out, and you didn’t once mention any of the above issue’s in our daily communication? 7.5 on value for money, you had a discounted rate of 115£ per night for 4 people, less than £30 per night per person for luxury camping with direct beach access, private lounge, bathtub, bbq, movie screens, kitchen etc, coming from the UK I’m sure you know we can pay £140 per night simply for a tent in a field with none of the above? To be very clear to any future guests reading reviews prior to booking, if you are going to book a camping experience in the tropics, do so with some common sense please, even luxury villas will have ants and mosquitoes, if you feel you are the type of person to complain about this please stay elsewhere as we pride ourselves on covering every angle at this property to ensure the best possible experience for guests and will take it personal when things out of our control reflect our impeccable reviews.
