Luckily we found Outrigger after searching the usual beach hotels. I specifically was looking for high feedback ratings, reasonable prices and proximity to a nice beach. The place was perfect for us: peaceful area opposite the quiet Surin beach with a good selection of restaurants, shops and massage places where you would want to visit again and again. On our last day we walked to the longer Bang Tao beach which was also very pleasant. On the island tour we passed by the popular resorts and were happy that we selected Surin! As to the resort experience, we had stayed at Outrigger in Fiji many years ago and remember that well. It is not easy to get satisfaction ratings of 10 and we weren’t disappointed. The staff are ever so helpful and cheery, the design of the building is unique and inspiring, restaurant has good variety of breakfasts every day. We also tried the massage. There is a taxi stand opposite so it’s easy to travel around. I was surprised there weren’t any insect problems as i was expecting that in a tropical climate. Wifi was great! So HIGHLY recommended if you want a peaceful break in a friendly area. Just sitting on the beach, in the shade, all day long was super-special. The water wad slightly on the rough side but enjoyable none the less. We would visit here again, love it!!

Quiet area so not so much going on, do need to travel a little to get to more restaurants/beach clubs depending in what you want.

Very quiet area, lovely beach next door. Staff overall super friendly and helpful. Bedroom comfy and pleasant with basic necessities (shower gel, hairdryer, iron ect..)

It’s a real stretch to pick something wrong, but the WiFi wasn’t great. And when you need to use their app to order room service it was a little frustrating.

Beautiful , warm and inviting. The rooms were spacious with great touches. Extra large bath tub and shower. We had a corner room with plunge pool which was amazing. The hotel restaurant was excellent with a great menu. Cocktails were also very good.

Both pools are quite small and the image you see online can be a little misleading but it still looks nice. For a country like Thailand, the breakfast is quite expensive. I was offered a discount and it was still more expensive than most dinners I had in fancy restaurants. Lastly I found a dead bug (not sure what type in my room) on my bed, I mentioned to the staff in the morning as I was going on a trip, they apologised, but I expected some sort of compensation in terms of maybe an upgrade or something. But all I got was sorry about that and housekeeping

Some parts of the room may have not been cleaned thoroughly, if you are not driving, your food choices are limited.

I was not a fan of the swimming pool set up, a bit too cramped for my tastes. I used the 50m pool next door.

The overall vibe of the place is exceptionally welcoming. The gym, although compact does the job of giving a good workout experience. Food is high quality (evening menu) and generous portion sizes.

The only thing that didn't go well was the amount of rain but that was somewhat expected due to traveling during the raining season. Other than that, there were no notable issues with our time there.

I loved the great hospitality provided from the hotel staff. They were so accommodating and extremely friendly. The hotel was also in a good location that made an easy walk to the beach as well as a number of restaurants. The room definitely gave us tropical vibes and was comfortable for both my wife and myself.

Honestly, nothing bad whatsoever about the hotel. Just that there was no sun and it kept raining and raining and raining… nothing the establishment could do about that. So, I would definitely stay here again.

I had an AMAZING stay at Outrigger Surin Beach Resort. The staff were fantastic and accommodating to my every request, down to my early check-in and even Netflix setup. Each and every staff were soooo polite and welcoming, it really made my stay there a pleasant one. Nana Relax Massage Surin Beach is like 3 doors down and it’s also about 3 mins walk to the beach. Had my daily morning latte at Nalu Bar and Grill and the pad thai there is also good. If i ever go back to Phuket, i will be staying here again for sure!!
