Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyIt’s 20mins walking from Pai walking street, so it’s better to have a scooter. You’re right on the street that comes from Chiang Mai, so could be noisy.
Rooms have a stunning views on the mountains, as well as they are very spacious

United KingdomWater in the room didn't get warm. The staff helped by booking taxis which turned out to be very expensive - these were a third of the price in town.
Staff were friendly. Room was a good size with beautiful view. Very comfortable beds and clean. Good facilities in room - kettle and fridge. There was hot water, tea / coffee and hairdryers to borrow in reception.

United StatesTHESE ARE POSITIVES (I ran out of space in the positive section!) (continued from above).. We gave the housekeeping a tip when we left, but Ploy Pailin please if you read this, please give a thank you to your cleaning lady! She did an amazing job- don't lose her! Housekeeping is provided (clean and bottled water) daily. I would recommend definitely using the housekeeping service at least every other day because it is a tropical environment and there are bugs that want to come inside. Also, if you have any bit of food that you leave out, then expect ants. They can smell the tiniest bit of food from far away and will find a way inside. One day we accidentally did leave a crumb of a muffin (amazing pumpkin muffins from Nok at the Walking St mkt) on the floor, and in the afternoon a line of little ants formed. There were probably 40 ants! 2 hours later, the ants left and the floor was clean. We were careful to shut the door quickly at night to not let in any bugs. We decided to leave our shoes outsid. Remember, you aren't in a city, you're in a natural area in the mountains, there are plenty of bugs. So it's really up to you to make sure bugs don't get in. - Food and Drink: At all times, there's hot water available in the lobby. There's instant coffee, excellent loose leaf tea, and a tasty selection of cookies/snacks. If you need something more, then there is a 7/11 just a few minutes walk down the road. There are 2 cafes nearby. - Location: It's just a 10min walk to the clock tower which is my fav area of Pai. There are great cafes, restaurants, yoga studios, and markets. To go to town, we rented bicycles (Papa's Pedals) and I highly recommend this- only a 5 minute bike ride. There are also some delicious local places closer to the hotel (Pai in Love Moo Kata BBQ, and an excellent local place near 7/11). - Staff: Friendly and helpful, we used Google translate and had 0 issues!
Ploy Pailin was exceptional in every way for us. - View: The view from our room (2nd floor) was just magical. It was so calming to look out at the mountains, fields, cows, and the Big Buddha in the distance. It's the perfect place to watch the rain. The large floor to ceiling windows really made this room airy, bright, and spacious. - Comfort: The large bed was comfy with clean, quality linens and a comfortable mattress. The window curtains were thick enough to black out light from outside. The air conditioning worked flawlessly. There is a little desk to get work done (or to use as a vanity) and also a little table with two chairs where you can also get work done or enjoy some drinks while looking out at the amazing mountain view. There is a large fridge so you can always have cold drinks and fruit. The room is spacious and there was plenty of space/shelves to organise and put away clothes in the shelving unit on the wall as well as the traditional wardrobe with hanging space. - Internet: We never had an issue with the internet and we streamed movies and also had video calls. - Bathroom: I would have liked a little more counter space/shelving on the wall to organise my things, but all in all there was sufficient counter space. The bathroom is simple but everything works well and is clean. The walk in shower has a divider so it is definitely very separate from the toilet and sink. The shower itself is large enough for 2 people to comfortably shower at the same time, if you so wish. The water was always hot and had great, strong pressure (I have a lot of hair!) -Cleanliness: Reading other reviews about some ants, I was a little apprehensive. But we had no issues, and actually found the cleaning to be superb- spotless. Seriously, I am picky about any little dirt on the ground (usually the normal accepted amount of dirt/fuzz bothers me). But I could walk freely, barefoot and there would be nothing picked up by my feet, not even a hair...

Israeleverything. In the first night we noticed that the sheets of the bed were dirty (the sides were with dust). It was 5/6pm and the reception said that the next day they will change it. Something felt wrong to me so I put some lipstick in few places on them just to make sure they will change (I never did something like that but apparently my intuition was right). Next day we arrived in the middle of the cleaning and saw the cleaner chaging the sheets. We didnt think to check because I saw with my eyes that she took them off. Unfortunately, when we get on to sleep I saw the lipstick mark. AFTER WE NOTICED THAT IT WAS DIRTY, WE ASK TO CHANGE , THEY JUST PUT AGAIN THE SAME ONE! we went immediately to the reception and ask for any explanation and the money back. They didn’t even apologize and said if we want the money and go find another hotel. Of course we took the money and in the middle of the night, while it was raining, we looked for different place. After one hour of searching we gave up, came back to the hotel and ask to stay the night. They agreere but we couldn’t stay and sleep there. We continued looking and after another hour we found the perfect place. we came back to the reception and ask for the money back. THAT MOMENT THE GUY THERE START YELLING AT US TO GET OUT OF THE HOTEL WITH HATE FACE. We didn’t do anything wrong, it’s all their fault and we definitely not recommend this place.

GermanyAs the hotel is located right next to the main road, there was noise coming from cars and motorcycles during day but also night time. Even though the A/C was working properly, it was also really noisy. This added up the whole accommodation was just loud and noisy. Didn't sleep so well due to this.
The room was spacious and clean. Also the owner is a really polite person. They have a laundry service for 50 THB/kg. The price-performance ration for the room is quite good.
