Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only thing I don't like is that this time we visited you had to pay cash for meals, drinks on the day. You can't pay by card or charge them to your room like the previous times. It's quite inconvenient. Other then that, it's great.
We love pingchan, we have stayed twice now, beautifully located beach villas. Nice selection at breakfast. Staff all smiling. Some people have complained that the restaurant shuts early, but that doesn't matter as there are a dozen of eateries nearby. The staff spend hours daily maintaining the garden.

NetherlandsWe had a wonderful stay! The resort is located right on the beach with beautiful, calm water—perfect for relaxing and swimming. The swimming pool is easily accessible and very well maintained. The grounds of the resort are filled with lovely flowers and plants, which are carefully tended to by the staff every day. Every request we made was taken seriously and handled as quickly as possible. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help with a smile. We stayed in a cottage in row 3, and everything in the house worked perfectly and looked exactly like the photos. It was a cozy and welcoming space that was cleaned daily. This accommodation offers excellent value for the price — highly recommended!

United KingdomWe stayed in a family beachfront villa in July 2025 and absolutely loved our time here. We specifically wanted somewhere beachfront with enough space and a bed each for our older teens. The family villa was perfect with two bedrooms (one king and one twin) and two bathrooms. The resort was quiet as it’s out of season so we only saw a few other families here. The pool was great but deep so might not suit young children. (I could only just touch the bottom as a 5’1” adult. The restaurant was open for breakfast until 9:30 and then during the day until 5:30. There are plenty of restaurants along the beach in the evening for a meal. The restaurant might be open on an evening during peak season. The staff were all so lovely, attentive and helpful. Koh Phangan was as great as we remembered it twenty years ago and loved coming back as a family. I would definitely recommend Ping Chan if you’re looking for somewhere to stay on the beachfront.

United KingdomThe breakfast setup was a little strange and basic but did the job and the food was nice.
Its location on Thong Nai Pan Yai is the reason we chose it and we had one directly on the beach - fantastic! Just what we were looking for. Everything about the property made it feel premium and the team did a good job in all areas. Recommended.

SwitzerlandEverything, so so beautiful and tropical and the staff does everything to make your stay comfortable. It is rather on a quiet corner of the island, for us perfect. The beach is gorgeous and gets cleaned every day in front of the house. Food at the restaurant was very tasty and always served with a friendly smile. Some people mentioned breakfast is bad, but to be honest, there was nothing you could not have. Maybe not European 4 star standard. We would happily return. A big thank you to the wonderful staff !!!

Fantastic location for peace, calm and tranquility! Not overcrowded, plenty of beach beds, nice swimming pool, the beach huts are very clean, the bar & restaurant close at 5pm but that’s not a problem, if you step out onto the beach ere there’s a bar & restaurant to your left and a 5 / 10 minute stroll to your right you will find lots of bars & restaurants, the beach is really nice and again it’s never overcrowded, there is a supermarket just outside the property’s main entrance and also there’s lots of bars & restaurants along the main road outside. Definitely a place to choose if you’re looking for a relaxing time!

Pingchan Beachfront Resort is a stunning resort located on one of the most beautiful beaches of Koh Phangan. The resort is very well maintained, and they make sure the beach is clean from leaves and seaweed. The entire resort is surrounded by lush greenery. They also arrange transportation. The food at the restaurant, which is open until 5 PM, is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. Breakfast is something special—you mark your choices on a list, and they serve you very quickly. Everything is delicious. The coffee is real and as it should be. The juices are natural, and the fruit selection is diverse. An excellent breakfast. The bungalows are arranged in three rows. The first row is, of course, the best, as it is directly on the beach and slightly larger. However, it is disproportionately more expensive compared to the other two rows, which are also very close to the sea. The bungalow is just the right size and has everything you need. The resort is very suitable for families with small children. Everything is nearby—shops, bars, fresh fruit stands... An excellent resort!

MalaysiaThe furniture in the rooms is a little dated, watch your legs on the corners of the beds! They need more hangers in the wardrobe and should really tile all around the sink area. The breakfast system really lets this place down, ticking the boxes on the yellow slips and having every item come on seperate little plates rather then just doing a simple menu with options to add on would be easier, however the staff are all wonderful and eager to please. Its a shame they don't have a proper restaurant and bar area. We had a medical emergency but couldn't get any assistance during the night so we had to wait until 7am when we could contact someone to call us a taxi to get to the hospital. Overall a great place to get some R&R away from the crowds, chill out and enjoy the beach. I would definitely come back and would recommend staying here!
The location of Pingchan resort is absolutely wonderful, literally right on the beach. We had a beachfront villa which was superb, with fantastic views of the sea, a wonderful terrace with chairs table and a huge daybed, we also had the beauty of loungers just in front of the cabin. The bed was big and comfortable, the layout of the room was good, separate walk in shower, toilet and sink area. There was an outdoor shower, but we didn't use this. The landscape of the resort is lovely and the location for us was peaceful with plenty of options for great food nearby.

IsraelThe breakfast is the weak point of the resort in comparison to other 3 star resorts, maybe it was because it was the low season and there was very few guests . Also the restaurant (lunch) was not as good as other near by beach restaurants. The TV in the room had very poor channel choices and in very bad quality.
The location is amazing, the staff is great. The two bedroom bungalow is amazing. Very nice pool. Everyone is smiling and helpful. Ken from the restaurant team was the best serviceman I met in Thailand, the resort is lucky to have him.
