A quiet oasis in the heart of the old city, within walking distance of the famous Chiang Mai walking street on a Sunday evening. All is calm and hushed, and there’s an abundance of art and antiques scattered around the grounds. This extends to the rooms, with tall ceilings and interesting books on the desk to browse through. However, the air conditioning struggled to keep the room cool enough, and a good night’s sleep was further banished by nightly bites from mosquitoes in the room despite the hotel providing insect repellent. On closer inspection, there were gaps around the antique doors into the room so there was never any hope of keeping them out. It got to the point I was getting anxious about going to bed. There were also a lot of mosquitoes around the pool area. Service is polite and accommodating, although occasionally difficult to find around the pool area. Service in the restaurant was equally good. There’s a lot to like at Rachamankha, but the mosquito situation with the room would make me hesitate to return.

Service was excellent from check in to housekeeping, F&B and front desk staff.

The bath room could be better maintained. Our room - the bathtub / shower was leaking each time and we had to ask for extra bathmats. So this should be looked into. Things like bathroom hooks can be added

The decanter in the Library, great touch. The restaurant ..beyond first class.. the man playing classical music on ancient instruments at dinner (amazing). The log fire , breakfast .. reception staff all amazing. February was a great period, I think in wet season, the rooms may be a little cold, but the hotel is amazing, peaceful and very Zen.

Soundproofing could be improved. its an old building after all.

A beautiful property throughout. Spotlessly clean, lovely art work and artefacts around the public areas, with well maintained gardens and a very nice pool area. A real oasis in a big city. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were lovely. We were very happy staying for a week at Rachamankha hotel.

We always stay at this hotel when we stop over in Chiang Mai. It's now become familiar and part of our routine when driving up to Chiang Dao. The staff are friendly, parking is always available, the swimming pool is great, and it is fairly quiet (depending on if your room faces the street) given the location. Breakfast options are good and the little courtyard where the restaurant is situated is quite pretty ( not sure how it is set up for the hotter and wetter months)

We usually get a room at the ground level but this time we got a room at the top. It's definitely not handicap friendly (and observation). The bathroom for these rooms are smaller than the ground levels which means the shower stall is quite narrow. For non-small body builds it would be a bit challenging 😜 (knocking your arms and knees on the shower wall) or hitting your head on the shower)
