Reviews of Retro Box Hotel Chumphon 3 stars

We stayed just one night whilst passing through to catch the early morning ferry to Koh Tao. Chumphon was a lovely surprise - we headed to the night market and had some of the best pad Thai in all of Thailand! Must visit. The hotel was clean, comfortable and great value for money. The pool was a bonus! We didn’t try breakfast as we left so early for the ferry - but again it was a great location as we could walk to the train station in 15 mins to catch the bus to the ferry terminal. All in all - highly recommend.

Hotel was well located, and the pool was nice. The bathroom in the family was very good.

Pillows were very high, and the breakfast was disappointing.

so disappointing for the asked price?? there’s mold in the shower, you can feel the facilities are not maintained and it feels as if the glory days are long gone. please note that you cannot access the pool anymore after 9pm even if you paid for a room that have direct access to it :( but THANKS GOD the staff was so nice!!

The Ac was working but could be better since the container you sleep in is made out of stee. Sun and steel is making the room a bit hot

Retro Box was an unexpectedly positive experience. The owners managed to shade and insulate the metal containers in a way that it was nice and cool inside. There were quite a few rooms overlooking the pool (ours didn't, but it was better this way as those seemed a little bit smaller). Breakfast was delicious, staff were polite, beds were comfortable - we loved it so much that we were the last ones to check out, after reluctantly stopping all that pleasant lounging pool side. In short, we loved it, and would highly recommend it to others. Great job, 👍 well done!

The rooms are exceptionally clean. Breakfast is ok. Complimentary coffee & tea always available I liked the novelty of stepping from our room into the pool, but the disadvantage of that is that anyone else in the pool is right outside your door.

The container rooms are tiny & cramped, and piled 2 stories high all around the pool, so the whole place has a claustrophobic feeling. Expensive for what you get.

It was super clean, the price was amazing, the pool was clean and cool, the staff were so polite and welcoming. Plenty of eating options around.

Bed was a little hard for my personal preference

Didn’t like being told that I had booked bunk-beds and having to pay extra for a double but that was Booking.com’s fault.

Helpful staff, very good for a short term staying, swimming pool and breakfast big plus!

It had a cool funky style and was tucked off the road and was quiet, staff was friendly and helpful.

The bed was firm, which I love but i imagine some people may not enjoy that.
