Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The beach is beautiful and offers great opportunities for snorkeling right off the shore—there’s plenty of marine life to see. Just a heads up: coral shoes are definitely necessary, as there are some rocky and coral areas in the water. The hotel’s restaurant was another highlight, serving delicious food with a lovely atmosphere. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I’d happily return!

FranceThe place is not that well lit at night on the property and especially on the road leading up to it. Whenever we rode home by scooter after sunset, we barely had lights outside of the scooter one for almost 15m. Its possible to manage but with a good driver and being focused and responsible. We wish the breakfast ended later, latest time was 9:30am. There is a lot of stairs / steep moments and it can be difficult for some. We liked getting the natural work out in but it should be checked in detail if you have mobility issues. The resort IS far away and remote from everything (guess its the point) - 100% recommend getting a scooter if you are staying more than 2,5 days for independence to go in and out and explore the rest of the island + find alternative food options.
Wonderful place to stay and used all the hotel amenities - we stayed for a full week. The pool was great with its happy hour and view (the staff at the bar is excellent), the private beach has everything you need, the Bay, the restaurant were all lovely & clean. It was a charming get-away where you really feel like you can relax and still do things! The views were absolutely stunning, every day we could not believe our eyes. The snorkeling was great. We rented a scooter from the hotel, 160cc was fine for a couple - we had adventures every other day to explore the island and other beaches. They provide snorkeling goggles which was great to use. Everytime we came back we loved arriving back to our calm peace even if the route was a little unsteady at times. I wish we stayed longer & upgraded for a sea view! 10/10 reco and would come back

Sai Daeng Resort is a true gem in Koh Tao: breathtaking location, stunning views, and a beautifully maintained property. The rooms are comfortable and the atmosphere is relaxing and unforgettable. The only minor downside was the restaurant service, which could be improved, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience.

United KingdomThe sunsets were on the other side of the island, but we knew this in advance and it's a short drive to get to watch them.
Located on a stunning peninsula with exceptional views. We enjoyed having a choice of two areas to snorkel from and it didn't take much effort to swim to the coral reefs close by. When booking we had some reservations about whether the location would be too remote for us, however the hotel provides a free shuttle bus with several trips to/from Sairee Beach or the port and there were usually spaces if booked on the day needed. Taxis each way tended to be about £12, so that was a good back up. Also, there's a choice of two lunch / dinner options without having to travel elsewhere, including the Sai Daeng hotel restaurant and the next-door hotel restaurant which was right on the beach and had a chilled-vibe. Sai Daeng also offers a well-equipped gym with stunning views, and a good schedule of other free activities.

ItalyA little piece of paradise – perfect for nature lovers and Muay Thai enthusiasts! We had a truly unforgettable stay at Sai Daeng Resort. The location is absolutely stunning — a hidden gem nestled in nature with breathtaking sea views and direct access to crystal-clear waters. It’s a snorkeling paradise, perfect for exploring vibrant coral reefs just off the beach. We were lucky enough to spot harmless baby reef sharks and an incredible variety of colorful fish — right from the shore! The staff is exceptional — incredibly kind, courteous, and always available to help with a warm smile. The entire resort is beautifully maintained and impeccably clean, with thoughtful touches that make it feel both luxurious and welcoming. The food is excellent — fresh, well-prepared, and with enough variety to satisfy any craving. Of course, prices are a bit higher than your average Thai street food, but totally reasonable and expected in a resort of this level. A very special mention goes to Kru Def, the Muay Thai instructor, who offered private sessions tailored to our needs. He’s a great teacher — professional, passionate, and patient. Training with him was one of the highlights of our stay! We’d recommend Sai Daeng Resort to anyone looking for natural beauty, relaxation, and a touch of adventure. We’re already dreaming of coming back!

United StatesThe location is fairly remote from town. Though not very far, it is up and down a steep mountainside requiring 4WD, and walking is not an option for most. Grab does not work on Koh Tao so you are reliant on the rare hotel shuttles. Otherwise, expect to pay 500BHT for a private truck into town.
The location of the property on a narrow peninsula with a beach on one side and spectacular snorkeling on the other is just unmatched on the island. The pool is lovely and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

SpainWe appreciated the peace and quiet of being slightly away from the city center, but although a shuttle service is offered, the schedule is limited and infrequent, so at times we had to rely on taxis, which can be quite expensive
We loved the facilities, the stunning views, the spacious and clean rooms, and the friendliness of the staff. The breakfast offered a great variety, and the hotel had an exclusive feel with activities like yoga and live music by the pool. They even provide snorkeling gear, which was a nice bonus.

NetherlandsAfter 4 nights we got noisy upstrairs neighbours. We could hear everything they did. So no soundproof rooms unfortunately. This kind of changed our whole holiday experience. The terrace furniture could be a bit more comfortable.
Good resort & service. Great gym, and the breakfast buffet was really good as well. Motorbikes, which can be rented at the front desk, needed to visit the nearby restaurants etc.

United KingdomAn incredible stay in a little slice of paradise. The free transfer from the ferry was all smooth and we were able to store our bags before 2pm check in. The breakfast was delicious and we ate in the restaurant, which was tasty and not too expensive. The hotel is quite remote - we walked to a neighbouring beach and restaurant and it's so hilly, everywhere is a minimum 25 minute walk. But there are transfers throughout the day to town and you might never want to leave anyway! You can fill water bottles at reception, which is helpful given the remote location. There are complimentary activities which are wonderful, both the yoga and muay Thai were fantastic. Finally, don't miss happy hour 4-6pm!

Israel- The location is far away from the center of the island and you will need a scooter to easily move around. but also with a scooter, the ride is not easy with stiff roads all the way to the hotel. - I this it could have give more value for what we payed and improve: the breakfast, the price of the food and drinks, the stuff could be more professional.
- The hotel has the most beautiful beach in Koh Tao with amazing coral reef. - The view from the room is very beautiful - The stuff was very nice and welcoming all the time - The gym and the Pool are great Over all we had a great time and I recommend this hotel is you can drive a scooter and not afraid from stiff roads.
