We absolutely loved our stay at Seaboard Bungalows for 6 nights in August. We had a view of the sea from our veranda, the beach is stunning, the staff were great and Haad Yao has everything you need. It was a very relaxing week!

Nothing....apart from the loud music one night from a bar up the hill, which is apparently every Thursday.

Just excellent. Location could not be better, directly on the beach. Very chilled place all round. Old school vibes. Max is our kind of host. Leaves us alone to chill but is there if we need any help or advice. If you need anything just ask. Weekly Wednesday party great fun and an unexpected bonus. Best Thai food in the beach. Best place on the beach full stop. We will return, and recommend to all our friends.

Somewhat rustic bungalows right on Haad Yao beach. Loved the atmosphere, including the artisan market and techno party on Wednesday. Clever mood lighting around the grounds. Heaps of restaurants nearby and the essential 7/eleven. Parking for cars (steep access, but that is common in Koh Phangan). Not flash but lots of charm.

The bed was pretty hard! Daily water wasn't included.

We had a very uncomfortable stay. Old, run down bungalows (not as they were on the pictures). Old painting, wholes on the walls. Unconfortable matrasses for sleeping, old basic furniture and (unclean) decoration. Nice plants around the bungalows but packed with mosquitoes, which makes impossible to spend some relaxing moments on the small balcony. In addition, no mosquitonet on the windows, if you open the door to change air, the bungalow will be invaded by mosquitoes. Out of two beds only one had a mosquitonet. If you wake up early, the restaurant is closed, no coffee machine in the bungalows. The food in the restaurant is also basic. We went to eat next door after two days. Do not expect the famous Thai hospitality and kindness, this is an expat run accomodation. Overall, much below the standards usual in Thailand. The place hosts a party on Wednesdays, loud music and the crowd passes in front of your bungalow. Thursday night, loud electronic music from somewhere else. As quality, I would recommend for young low budget backpackers, but then the price 90 euros per night is hard to justify. No services included, no cleaning, you can spend your time cleaning up the sand and fight mosquitoes.

A huge thank you to Team Seaboard for an unforgettable stay! Everything about our experience was exceptional, from the faultless food to the vibrant atmosphere. Both the Italian and Thai menus were absolutely delicious, and the aubergine parmigiana was a standout favorite. Their event program was fantastic, featuring high-energy dance parties and soulful live jazz performances at sunset. Any minor issues were swiftly handled and the hosts and staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The cherry on top? The expertly curated playlist that set the perfect tone throughout the day at the beachside restaurant. Their seamless blend of classical, funk & soul, house music, and ambient lounge created an effortlessly cool and relaxing vibe. They really know what they’re doing! Already looking forward to our next visit!

Great beachfront location with big rooms and comfortable porches.

The rooms are a bit dated but still okay and we didn't get any daily water included in the rooms.

Great atmosphere, entertainment,.various chill areas, beautiful art, decent western food (limited and average thai). Spacious rooms and nice interior. Lots of friendly animals, sand toys, tunes good drinks and beautiful Sunsets!

Dirty doona cover and bins never got emptied. Noisy without warning, all good for parties but a heads up for the midnight techno thumping would have been appreciated beforehand.Thai food was a bit bland and limited. No offer of advice on hand but vague.

Very nice location on the beach. Spacious bungalows with nice outdoor seating.

We where prepared for the policy of no room cleaning (read others reviews on that matter), but I still think they could earn a lot on offering room cleaning/changing of towels/linnen at least every 4th day or so :). But we managed fine, and I’m sure they would have done it we asked. One thing we really missed was some more comfortable sunbeds/chairs on the beach. The bathroom was all in all fine, but ours had a constructions fault - making a total flooding of the bathroom everytime you showered.

I am extremely grateful for the effort that you did with food for our son.

Location and vibe

Less than 30seconds to the beach. Animal friendly, good service

Rooms need renovation. A bit of mold accumulated in our room. Mosquito nets would have been great

quite noisy. We do not recommend it for holidays with children.

Great location on the beach and beautiful atmosphere for a relaxed holiday with good restaurants around on the same beach.

The mattresses on the beds were very hard. They could use an update.

It doesn’t have to be perfect in order to be great. What’s important here is (i) the abundant shade for the kids to play in all day. (ii) The fact that there are always kids playing here, both passing through as well as the staff’s kids. (iii) our bungalow is right on the beach and has a huge patio. Thank you Paola! A1 will cost you a premium, but if you can swing for it, totally worth it. The other bungalows are surrounded by bushes of pink and white flowers. (iv) The social architecture is incredible with different ways of sitting (tables, platforms, hammocks), for different size groups (or individuals), and many discrete spaces that are together but offer generous personal space. (v) The space is, and feels, open, like an Italian piazza. Its beach face is wide and generous.

It doesn’t matter. It’s imperfections that are overshadowed by the benefits and vibe of the place (both specifically Seaboard and more generally Haad Yao).
