Just like in my previous review: everything was perfect!

- Brand new hotel with spacious, beautifully decorated rooms, - Exceptionally comfortable bed and pillows (a rare find in Thailand!), - Perfect location: just steps from the beach and right in the heart of the island’s lively atmosphere, - Super friendly, attentive, and helpful staff. Definitely one of the best places I’ve stayed during my trip!

Note: Since the hotel is in such a lively area, you can hear music until late at night. But no worries, the staff provides earplugs and anyway it didn’t bother my sleep at all.

The staff were incredible

Amazing place, so cozy and nicely decorated! Had everything we could wish fir and the owner and all staff are so nice and helpful! The location was also perfect for us, walking distance to all the things you need, even the pier in mae haad is only 15 mins on foot. We will definitely come again, thanks so much for everything 🥰

Nice capsules felt like my own bed

Wanted to extend but it was fully booked, which was my fault

Loved this hostel! Staff were so friendly and accommodating cannot say enough good things about them. We checked out late and left our bags in the reception area as we were not getting ferry until 9pm. They let us chill out in the hostel in the evening in the reception area and even booked a taxi for us to the ferry. Also beds were comfy - double beds and the shower area was perfect. The best of all was the location - one minute walk to the beach! We also went to the cactus cafe every day which we received 10% off in as we were staying in cactus and the food was delicious :)

The property was amazing! I was in a private room which was beautifully presented, great space and the bathroom was fab. All amenities provided were excellent. Would thoroughly recommend! Excellent value for money, the staff were sooo friendly and really added to the experience. This was nicer than a hotel I stayed at later which was more expensive. Really happy I stayed here.

The only thing was you can’t really use the bath as 1. There’s a water shortage and 2. The water was cold for the bath but it was still beautiful and I loved it!

I liked how soft and big the dorm beds were. Also it was easy to start up conversation with people in the common area.

There are only two bathrooms to be shared among everyone in the dorms, which isn't much.

The room felt clean, towels provided. Location was great too, just off of the Main Street where can get food very easily but it was set back so it wasn’t too loud. Was not a party hostel, which for me was a plus as didn’t have disturbed sleep! Whenever I needed anything, the hosts were very respondent on the app.

Could have had more of a social area or a way to encourage socialising - I was a solo traveller and struggled meeting people. The air con is turned off between 4-8pm, for sustainability reasons I believe. However after the hottest hours of the day when returning from the beach, it would be some relief to be able to return to an air conditioned room, as it does get quite hot without it.

Cactus Boutique is a gem on Koh Tao. The welcome and kindness received by Wye and team is 10/10. The vibe here and the shared seating area is wonderful; chill in atmosphere and covered for protection from the sun (or rain!). This place is kept immaculately clean; the staff are always making sure things are kept at high standard. There is free water to refill your bottle, a shared refrigerator and kettle too. There is even a TV - not that you need it on Koh Tao. There is a 7-11 and night market close by for your cheaper food needs, as well as the many restaurants on the beachfront. The dorm rooms here are particularly special; each pod is cosy and cocoon-like. They are big too, I am tall and felt I had ample space length wise and to the side there was room for my big rucksack. Even some hotels here have beds not as comfy as the beds at Cactus - pure bliss! I used their laundry service too and it was excellent.

My only negative of my entire five night stay was that the shower and toilet is part of one cubicle. The shower itself is a double shower, so modern and impressive (rainforest shower and normal shower head). But it is inescapable that the fact it shares a cubicle with the toilet is unavoidably dirty feeling - even though the unit is cleaned throughout the day. This factor would not stop me staying at Cactus because of all of its positives, but when booking just be aware.

No expectation but when i reached this hostel i feel like home. Warm welcome from lovely staff, bed is big and clean make me sleep well.

Best beds I slept in Thailand!

Only two toilets (each with a shower) for about 16 beds.

The shared rooms were great, very easy to socialize. The staff was extremely nice!

The room was beautifully decorated with a cozy and modern design. The bed was comfortable, and the staff were super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We also loved the peaceful atmosphere and convenient location — close to the beach and restaurants.

Our room was located next to the stairs, so it could get a bit noisy when people walked by, especially early in the morning or late at night.
