How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThere are luxury rooms with fantastic views and a solo travel part. I traveled alone and was looking for somewhere safe and unique. This place is where I will come back again for sure. The hotel offers a cozy 4-bed female room, and It’s a perfect place for solo travel. Staffs are also friendly.

Verified reviewThe staff is wonderful, so helpful with any questions or needs. And the facilities are spotless and so comfortable, with laundry, clean bathrooms, and a beautiful swimming pool right on the beach, together with a beach towel when you ask for it.
The lobby is just off the road and can be a bit noisy, but very little time is spent in the lobby.

Verified reviewWas absolutely incredible Stayed as a solo traveller who has stayed at a LOT of hostels and this by far was one of the nicest ones. Very laid back vibe and all the staff were so lovely. It's a mixed use hotel with small rooms, the dorm rooms and villas so you will see a variety of guests from young families and young travellers. The outdoor spaces such as the terrace, pool and beachside area are fantastic. The area is really nice, on the edge of Lamai beach its a very easy walk or scooter into the main areas of Lamai beach and a 20 minute scooter to Chaweng or fisherman's village

Verified reviewYou can't tell how they do it. But from the start, the team of the Rock Samui will give you a relaxing and warm welcome to this little tropical paradise. Build as an tribute to the international series 'the flintstones', the Rock offers everything a traveller needs. Chill out places, a private beach to relax at and moreover a staff team that is interested in offering professional service. One my way back home i even revisited the hotel - it was so great. Therefore i can just say thank you, for your wonderfull teamspirit. May it be the endearing Chaw who has the empathy to share heartwarming laughs with good feelings. Yet also offers smart advice for your trip, professionalism when it comes to questions regarding the hotel and sharp comments - if you let her. The all knowing, almost tour guide niveau Gerome from philippines, who knows everything about the island Kho Samui. May it be the way to the ferry, the bus stations, the time of traffic or locations to eat, enjoy or meet friends. But don't forget about the rest of the team. The kitchen handles your order excellent. There are even fresh croissants every morning. Since i've been to france this year, they can stand the comparisson. Also it is very clean everywhere. Been in other hostels and hotels so far. Still, this one stands out. If you work a lot and want to relax, the Rock is your place to go. Of course bigger or even party beaches are just a shortly away. But who wants to go there, when you can have a private beach with your friends? When we were at holiday, one tourist even fell to the ground unconscious. The team called emergency immedeatly and even visited the unlucky solo traveller afterwards in hospital. In short: They genuinly care for you as a guest. Something, you can't find everywhere in the world.

Verified reviewIt was a pleasant stay, and the location is right on lamai Beach. You can watch sunrise/sunset from the terrace or from down the beach. Staff is exceptionally nice and welcoming.
There aren't any flaws as such for the price you are paying, just that It's quite far from all the famous locations, so be prepared for atleast 35 to 40 minutes rides (which aren't cheap at all). If i had to keep a note, it'd be that the men's washroom needs an exhaust fan, a huge one, maybe a couple of them, It was always smelly, which wasn't very pleasant. My floor didn't have a men's washroom, so I had to go down the stairs on the 2nd floor to do my business.

It was a little out of the way of the beach and busy areas if you are walking.

Verified reviewI slept in the dorm and it was amazing. It's clean, big. The pillow and the sheet is so nice. The show warm and good pressure. The kitchen area clean. The pool is clean and with salt water. Free kajak for rent. 35min walk to the lamai nightmarket, the long Lamai Beach 10min walk.
The beach in front of it is small and wasn't that clean
