Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe entrance to the reception is a steep path
Beautiful bungalows built into the slopes of a mountain with direct access to the pool from the balcony. Excellent facilities for obtaining a diving certificate, a very helpful team to ensure your stay runs smoothly, and two friendly cats at the reception. Shuttle service available to the pier and small town.

United KingdomThe welcome we received from the reception team upon arrival could have been better and felt very rushed and like they had something better to do. I would say this was just one individual and the rest of the team throughout the stay were welcoming and good.
The villa sea view room was lovely, really clean, very comfortable bed and the view was brilliant!

PortugalI was in one of the villas that has a private swimming pool and all was fantastic .. except that the pool everybody has access as it is not with a fence .. and that was causing us not a good experience as several people were in our private pool having a bath. Would be good if the hotel has an action on that to avoid that kind of situations

United StatesAs other reviewers have noted, the location is up hill from town ... this walk was not too bad, but the stairs leading up to our room were quite steep (and a pain to climb up after the uphill climb). Additionally, the breakfast is adequate by US standards (which are very low), but not "nice" by Asian standards. The in-house restaurant lacks tasty vegetarian options. The staircase is not well lit up at night, which can be very problematic if it rains. The "hot" water in the shower was lukewarm at best, though this was bearable since the weather was hot and muggy. Finally, losing a room key (which would not be a big deal in chain hotels) can incur an expensive THB 500 fine ... we almost lost ours but thankfully someone found it in the dining area and returned it!
Overall, the room was nicely appointed and comfortable. We had a nice view of the ocean, though the rooftop obstructed it a bit. From what we observed on Sairee Beach, this was one of the nicer properties close to town. The air conditioning and Wi-Fi worked well in the room, and I was able to take Zoom video calls with no issue. The location was a 10-minute walk to the beginning of the Sairee beach stretch, lots of nice restaurants close by. There is an infrequent free shuttle to town, and they offer a paid service outside scheduled times (which is cheaper than the local taxis). There was also an inexpensive laundry just across the street from the hotel, which did a pretty decent job. There is a 5-star PADI dive shop on site, which currently shares facilities with Black Turtle Scuba Shop (which is also top-notch). While we did not use the on-site dive shop as it was a bit more pricy than those in Sairee Beach, it seemed like a good option if you value convenience.

United KingdomWifi/TV reception was spotty. The drive back to the hotel wasn't easy since the road was very steep. If you aren't driving, please also do expect a little hike up to your room from the reception.
We had an amazing time here. The view from the room was absolutely stunning, particularly for sunset. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

IrelandWhere our room was located it to much steep walking to get up and down to the room by foot. So between the heat and walking but the time you get to your room your legs are tired. The hotel does offer a golf caddy to bring you up but not convenient if you’re coming home from the town and it’s a little on the late side.
The property is lovely and you get a real feel of nature. It was gorgeous waking up every morning with the view of the sea ,nothing more tranquil. We love the hotel , they have everything to facilitate your stay. From umbrellas to beach towels.

The staff were very attentive and extremely polite, the resort offers golf cart rides to and from the resort as well as a shuttle. The breakfast buffet was the best selection that we’ve had in Thailand so far. The resort is in a good location.

FranceUnfortunately not much storage in the room to put your cloths. Also, NO privacy at all in the toilettes or the shower (no blind door, only a fully transparent glace door with direct view in the room... I personally found this quite unpleasant. Breakfast is fine, but a bit basic. Do not expect much. The hotel has a very nice rooftop bar with sunset view, but there is clearly no wish to take advantage of it. Unfortunately there is a lake of investment to make this spot nice & cosy. Some progress could be made (better furniture, better lights, some music in the evening ?)
Overall, I had an excellent stay at Tarna Align. The hotel is well located, a few minutes walking distance from the beach (you can enjoy a free shuttle on the evening). Be aware it's on a hill so better to rent a scooter. The pool access rooms are the best: they give you access to a private pool shared with 2/3 rooms & private sun beds on your terrasse (the general pool is very small and not super nice...) Rooms are quite cosy, and well equipped. Good amenities in the bathroom. I do not put more than 8/10 because I think the hotel price-range is a bit high and services does not align with a 4* hotel (when you pay 150/200€ a night in Thailand you expect a certain level of services, and this hotel is below what other 4* provide in the region for the same price).
