Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI think it was the time of year and maybe something to do with the proximity of so much green space and water, but the (lovely, small, sleepy, authentic) town did seem to support a very high level of small flying insects, some of which were of the biting sort, others maybe not. Anyway, there was no keeping them out of the house - or bedroom - and it would have been nice if someone had been sweeping them up (they seemed to have a short life span and collected on the tiled floors) a bit more often! It would have been nice to have more control over the aircon, as I ended up getting up a few times each night to turn it on or off (since I couldn't alter the temperature). There is a fridge full of water, i assume intended for guests, but no one showed me it and I only found it by accident as I was leaving - I'd assumed no water was provided for the duration of my stay!
The warm welcome and character/friendliness of host; the easy location of the guesthouse by bike rental and opposite central archeological park and museum (personally I didn't find street noise an issue at all). The bed was also actually much more comfortable than most with a nicely padded mattress and cotton sheets. Big proper towel. Shower worked. Effective, if noisy, aircon. None of the points made in the following section would stop me returning here, by the way... it's excellent value for money (and a place you can feel relaxed in, because welcome!)

BelgiumNo remarks whatsoever.
Awesome location, in front of the historical park and next to bike rental shops. Friendly owner who even offered to let us shower before we had to go to the bus in the evening, so after we had already checked out. Breakfast is basic based on the market being open or not (toast, jam, bananas, ...) but good and it's still amazing that it's included considering the price.

AustraliaThere isn’t a lift, so would recommend requesting a ground floor room if you have much luggage or any mobility issues as the stairs are very steep. There is a bike hire shop next door which can be a little noisy first thing in the morning. When tour groups arrive it can get even worse as the tour guides sometimes use a megaphone.
We received a warm and friendly welcome from the owner from the moment we arrived and every morning at breakfast. Our stay here over the New Year period was very enjoyable and the location is great being just across the road from Sukothai Historical Park. There are plenty of bike hire shops nearby and a golf cart hire sets up at the front of the guest house each day. Breakfast was simple and local dishes but very tasty and you could help yourself to cold water from the fridge at any time. Great place to stay if you like cats, the resident cat is very friendly and if you leave your door open long enough will come in for a snooze on your bed.

AustraliaNot much to not like. It's a guesthouse - part hotel, part someone's home. The plumbing was average but adequate. The noise suppression was minimal. The TV worked - about 20 shopping channels, a few Thai news channels, couple of local entertainment channels (½ dreadful show / ½ ads!), France 24, Hollywood movie channel (dubbed into Thai, may/may not have subtitles, may/may not have a 20 minute ad break in the middle of the movie!). A fridge in the room would've been more entertaining. I'd stay here again.
Owner Mr Pidok gave me a warm greeting and was a friendly host throughout my stay. Excellent English and knowledge of local transport options - helpful for chumps like me. He also booked my onforward transfer. What a guy! Basic breakfast of fruits, bread, spreads, sticky rice and banana parcels, donut-churro-y type things, tea / coffee / Milo provided. The place seems to be kept spotlessly clean. They have a nice cat. Basic room amenities - spacious enough, very comfortable bed and pillows. A/C worked well. Good blackout curtains. Powerful bum-gun. The Historical Park is right across the road. Many outlets for hiring bikes & golf carts on the doorstep. Easy access to many food outlets, 2 x 7-11s, daytime fresh food market, extensive night market - possibly every night. Delicious food from the unassuming looking restaurant 2 doors past the nearest 7-11. Thank me later!

GermanyRoom was pretty basic, had no nighttable only very bright central light and electric plug and light switches were far from the bed... Sounds carries strongly inside the building, so bring your earplugs if you're a light sleeper
Very nice helpful people, clean rooms, nice breakfast, good location, bike rental, decent price. All in all recommended if you like basic.

SpainThe mattresses in our room were a bit hard for me. And since guests must remove their shoes before get inside the Guesthouse, there was a very particular and strong smell, due to the shoes of some globetrotter. Otherwise everything was excellent.
I decided to stay at the Toonguesthouse because of its excellent location, in front of the Sukhothai Historical Park, as well as the good price. The man at the reception very friendly and kind, always smiling. I was pleased to discover that breakfast was included in the price, there were fruits, bread to toast, jam, coffee, tea and some other typical Thai sweets. I liked it and ate a lot. The ToonGuesthouse, it is a 2-storey building, with a staircase, a large reception and food area, all pretty basic but functional. The room was basic too, a good size, the air conditioning worked very well as well as the WiFi, the room had a window overlooking the Historic Park. The bathroom, basic, without a shower curtain (I got used to it on my trip to Thailand). Of course hot water works fine. On the upper floor, there is a fridge in the common area, to be able to leave your drinks or food there, and on the ground floor, there is a small kitchen, but I am not sure if it is for use by guests. The Toonguesthouse is not located in the center of Sukhothai city, but it is in the center of all the tourist attractions in the area, rent bicycles, motorcycles and electric cars to walk around the park, some restaurants nearby.

United KingdomLike alot of guesthouses in Thailand now you walk into the room and could be anywhere in the world. Needs abit more Thai influence in the room x
Excellent place to stay. Cant believe more people dont stay here. It is overlooking the historical park. Very good base for exploring the area. You have complementary tea and coffee. AC. Very comfortable and clean. We extended our stay. Very kind owner. Peaceful. Top tip: the park is free to visit after 6pm when it is alot cooler and the sunset makes the temples very serene.
