How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There were many ants in the bathroom, which later got into our suitcase
Nice, spacious room with really friendly stuff. The tours at the hotel were also good price.

Slightly noisy with kitchen next to the room but nothing to complain about!!
Brilliant location. Lovely pool which was mostly shaded (in the heat was perfect!) Very friendly staff. Brilliant cleaning service, daily clean, towels, tea & coffee top up. Fridge stocked with water. Pool towels available everyday. Very god air-con.

Unluckily, i stayed for one night, and I arrived later than expected. So I wouldn't recommend it if you are staying only for one night but at least 2.

Building work nearby but that is nothing to do with the property itself
Quiet away form the Main Street and a little jungle oasis. Great beat and great value Amazing family seafood restaurant next door as well recommend but the receptionist

It's an AirCon only room. On a beachside. May not be great for extra days.

Main door is a glass sliding door, to lock it means using just a latch. Should have provided a more secure locking mechanism for people who are more security conscious. The pool was just a teeny shallow one.
Location, all shops and amenities right outside the hotel. Shower pressure was good. AC was good. Room didn't seem like the size in photos but acceptable.

No help available for shifting luggage. Very less options in breakfast buffet. same menu everyday. Staff showed cold behaviour. Toiletries are limited to soap, shower caps and earbuds.
Room was clean. Price is competitive.

1. The toilet design is quite outdated. Not many spaces/hooks to put your stuff in the toilet. 2. There are many insects and mosquitos. 3. Staff are not very attentive.
1. Location!!!! Just 5 mins walk to the Ao Nang Beach. And from there you can take the long tail boat to the Railay beach/4 Islands!! Although someone thinks that staying in Ao Nang Beach is too touristic, it is really convenient considering you need to take shower immediately after visiting beaches/islands. And there are many shops and restaurants around too! 2. Budget Price with such location 3. Room is spacious !!! with a nice balcony. 4. Generally clean. 5. Consistent and strong supply of hot water. 6. Smart TV provided. 7. Some guests say that the hotel is noisy, but if you stay in the B session, it is extremely quiet at night.

The towels were washed but slightly stained and need replacing. On arrival our safe didn’t work but the receptionist changed the batteries immediately, resolving the problem.
The reception staff here were very good and one lady in particular was excellent and booked our onward ferry journey and taxi. The accommodation was probably the most basic that we stopped in during our trip but it was comfortable and clean. The location was very good, just a few minutes walk from the beach front where there are lots of bars and restaurants. The swimming pool is small with a couple of beds. The room was a decent size and adequate for our one night stay.

Because the doors to each room are slidey doors, it can be very noisy in the evening when people return or leave very early.
We really enjoyed our stay at Whalecome, especially for the price! The location was great and the room was very comfortable. We would 100% stay again!

Fantastic stay. The location is perfect, it is a tropical oasis just off the main drag. Very cheap trips. The staff were lovely and helpful. The only negative, is we had a nosy ac unit outside our bathroom, so had to wear earplugs

This hotel is a fantastic budget-friendly option for families. The rooms are exceptionally clean, and the staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful. Its prime location offers easy access to Ao Nang beach, numerous restaurants, and shops. Plus, they provide a paid laundry service and can arrange local tours, making it a very convenient choice. We had a wonderful stay!
