How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The hotel pipes horrible 60s-70s piano music throughout the hotel, including the swimming pool area. It gives the impression of a psychiatric hospital like in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest! Please vary the music!! There were large coach parties on each of the 5 nights that I stayed there. Many seemed to be from Spain and Israel. Large groups can quickly change the atmosphere of a hotel.
Very well located, a short walk from the Night Bazaar and central Chiang Rai. A nice swimming pool at the rear of the building - very quiet in the middle of the day. Good breakfast of Thai and European food. Nice cooked to order omelettes. The staff were much friendlier than on my last visit.

Breakfast could be a bit better for westerners. It’s basically tailored for Asian clients.
Not the first time and won’t be the last. The staff is courteous and welcoming. The hotel is comfortable, clean, and very conveniently located in the center.

The location was great. The first day with a room that had a malfunctioned AC for which they put me in another room right away. The WIFI wasn't up to speed. I cannot use my laptop whether I was in the lobby or in the room for that matter. It wasn't secured and would logged me out frequently. But the room was furnished with an old style Thai charm and decor in which I liked the most. It brought me back some memories of refined classic Asian design. Not all rooms are furnished in the same manner, different options at booking. The buffet breakfast was great. Lots of thai and western choices and also delicious.

The hotel is past its best years, some remodeling would help. Wifi signal is not good and is not wifi is not available in all rooms. We had three rooms and wifi only worked in one and not always. Swimming pool looks great on photos but although it was crazy hot outside, since the pool doesnt get any sunshine it was really cold all day long and we didnt see anyone in the pool during our 4 days stay. This was the biggest disappointment. Also the staff doesnt speak english and doesnt really even try so when we needed help, advice or suggestion they were not really able/willing to help us and we had to go ask outside the hotel.
The location of the hotel is great. Very close to night market/bazaar, close to city center, clock tower and bus terminal. Rooms were decent size, enough furniture. Views were not bad but the location is the best advantage of this hotel. Breakfast was good with choices of european and thai dishes.

The hotel is quite dated, though well cleaned and maintained, it has a lot of beautiful old wood making it feel dark. Personally, I like the rustic Northern Thai charm but others may prefer something more contemporary.
My go to Hotel in Chiang Rai for more than 20 years, nice hotel at a reasonable price. Excellent location in the city centre, ideal for a one day visit and plenty of parking. Love the cocktail bar and the beds are great too.
