How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The place was really really clean. No bugs or insects at all. The owner was so lovely and joyful. Nice warm showers and plenty of places to hang clothes. The location was really convenient, close to the bus station and we were able to walk around 30 minutes to the blue temple. 2 minutes from a laundrette and there is a really nice 5 star rated restaurant over the road.

Beds are a bit hard
Fresh water each day, free coffee & tea near to the entrance. The owner is always smiling and happy to see you coming back ! She doesn't speak english but she try is best to find a solution

very clean place, good atmosphere, very friendly and helpful hostess: always around to help with anything. quiet for sleeping. 15 minutes walking to town centre and also close to busstation. recommended!!

The wifi was a bit off-on, but it did work enough
The house is very clean and the location is near to the walking street market on the weekend, and close to a 7-11 and some restaurants and coffee shops. The host is incredibly kind and sweet and there are coffee and tea facilities downstairs in the common area.

Everywhere was super clean. There is an area downstairs where there is a kettle and some cutlery and crockery available to use. Large fridge in the room. The owner is fantastic and I had a wonderful stay. I will stay again if I return to Chiang Rai. The Saturday walking street is just around the corner!

A little bit of walk to the centre, but OK.
Good family room, after one month in Laos it looked very fancy! The owner is very friendly and helpful, we stored our bags securely after check out.

The perfect place to be for a 3-4 days rest in Chiang Rai. The staff was incredibly welcoming, arranging, helpful and understanding. The room had everything needed, very comfortable and a little sunny balcony to dry clothes easily. Would recommend this place

Really cozy and comfy room with everything you need. We really valued the kindness of the hosts and their availability to help us out with anything we needed. Rooms are clean and beds really comfy! The hosts provided free coffee and hot drinks! Quiet area with 7-11 near by and good location!

The property was a bit hard to find but obvious once located. The bed was hard by even Thai standards otherwise fine and the light switch location meant getting out of bed to turn the one main light off.
This is a budget accommodation in Chiang Rai and for a quiet place to stay it was fine if basic. Clean, it had obviously been renovated recently. The proprietor was lovely and friendly. Communication was functional via Google Translate

Little noise isolation from other guests Though they didn't bother me. Last floor water pressure keeps fluctuating

The wifi was not that great for working in the room, but it seemed better downstairs.
Great location, the place is a few steps away from the Saturday market and 10-15 min to the center and bus stops. The room was spacious enough and looked clean. The lady in charge was very attentive and helpful. She came pick me up when I was looking for the accommodation in the wrong place or helped me get rid of an insect that got in my room. There's daily cleaning and fresh water and there's an area downstairs with some cutlery and place to eat.

A warm welcome. The owner is lovely, helpful and accommodating. Thank you so much for everything you have done for us. Very clean and tidy room. Ideal place to stay. Towels, soap and water available. We will come back without hesitation if we ever come back to Chiang Rai!
