Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Spacious room for 4 people. Clean and separate toilet and bath. Accessible to old town and nearby attractions. Smells like coffee in the common room/coffee shop.

PhilippinesSince, it's initially designed for 8 individuals, the door has no lock. So, it's really a bummer for us every time we go out, since we belong to the same group, anyway. The other air conditioner was also leaking, it almost fill up the bucket.
We stayed at this hostel for two nights as a group of eight, and we appreciated the privacy offered by the walls and curtains. The room provided sufficient space for all of us, and we enjoyed playing with the Bingo cards available at the hostel. Additionally, there were plenty of restrooms and shower facilities. The location was also fantastic, with nearby stores, food parks, and historic sites to explore.

SpainThe bed is super comfortable with a nice (actual) blanket and the bathrooms are really clean. I loved the location, on a street with many hostels its still quiet and down the street you have an amazing food market every night.

AustraliaStairs - going up with a suitcase. Also the entire bed shakes when the person at the top bunk gets up and moves. They had sliding door that was noisy. They don't provide towels
Great location, right next to the markets, walkable to temples and you can also take Songthaew (red truck) close by to far away places. Plenty of toilet and bathroom. Plenty of space to put your luggage. Fridge and microwave available for use. Plenty of other hostels along the streets so you can make friends, book tours or get transport to Pai and do your laundry.

ThailandThe beds are quite loud and move at the slightest action, so you feel very aware of your bunkmate. The curtains are also basically non-existent if on the top and still exposing if on the bottom
The hostel is in a very convenient location and has a coffee shop underneath. People are also generally quite friendly and borderline social. But if you.wiuldkike something more social, the host is on a road full of other hostels with people outside who you could happily talk to. I wasn't here for long, so I can't comment on the consistency of things, but for my time, lit was nice.

DenmarkNot a social hostel. NO SAFETY BOX of any kind (yes there was one in the room, but even the guy in the reception said that it wasn’t safe because you could just take the whole box, since it wasn’t fixed to the wall. Noisy, the door to the dorm made a lot of noise every time it was opened. Stayed there two times, both for just one night, and one time the sheets haven’t been changed :(
Not a social hostel. Good beds, two toilets and two bathrooms for 8 people, which was nice and more than you would expect from a regular hostel. Clean bathroom area in general. The doorm had a good amount of space so you don’t have to put your bags under the bunk beds. Plugs and reeding light by each bed (but in the opposite site from your head, so they weren’t that useable for reading…)

CanadaThere was no one for check in and checkout. Was waiting in the lobby for about 30 minutes before I had to call someone. Also came down and few people were waiting for a long time as well. Would have been nice to be given instructions prior to arriving that there will be no staff at around 6:30pm
Good location, really close to the food market and quiet.

United StatesMetal bed frames noisy, curtains noisy. Lockers are small, and I ended up storing luggage under the bottom bunk bed.
Good location among other hostels. Very quiet, except for the bunk beds, which are metal frames. Makes noises with every move. The bed is a good size. Curtains, but noisy when moved. Standard hostel bed, bed hard, no frills. Located above a coffee roaster. Otherwise very good hostel. No shoes inside policy. Good showers, the sinks are a bit high for a short girl, had to tippie toe to use. Small kitchen area, two fridges. All stairs, no elevator. The A/C is fierce 😂. Bring good noise cancelling earplugs.

Czech RepublicI don’t think they change the bed sheet after every guest. I saw they just swiped the bedsheed and folded the blanket.
It has great location, with beautiful view to the temple and the mountain. It has its own washing machine for coins and spaceful terrace so you can dry your clothes. And they make very good coffee.

DenmarkNoisy beds in the dorms. Staff didn’t really speak English, made it a bit difficult to communicate about our stay. Very noisy in the room, you can easily hear the people on the stairs and in the showers/bathroom area.

BelarusNot really social. Staff behaviour wasn't friendly at all. They have a coffee business on site and it feels like they are more concerned about it. They keep coffee boxes everywhere, they are roasting their own coffee but it's just a shame that they don't treat their guest with coffee. Coffee machine in the shared kitchen is broken and they don't care. I think it would be a nice gesture and a good promo to make at least filter coffee for the breakfast for their guests. All shared spaces are limited with space, the kitchen can fit only 2-3 people at once. And they don't give you a towel, you need to have your own or rent from them for 40 thb.
The room is comfortable, spacious, fresh, bright and clean. Sleeping space is well organised, you have your own light, good socket, mini shelf and curtains, the mattress and the pillow is surprisingly good. The shower cabins and toilets are clean. The shared kitchen is equipped with a microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge. Good location on the hostels street, close to the old town and beautiful temples.
