Nice buffet breakfast in Georgian cuisine restaurant on the ground floor. Great city view from the 9th floor, plenty of space in bathroom with window. Hotel is very close to the park, good for those who like morning jogging.

Great location, delicious and varied breakfast, comfy spacious rooms with fine mattrasses, tea-makers and stable hot water, nice and helpful staff, wonderful restaurant at the ground floor.

We stayed at this hotel from April 7th to 13th, 2025, and unfortunately, it wasn’t a great experience. The biggest issue was the air conditioning — it didn’t work during our entire 7-day stay. With daily temperatures between 25–30°C and reaching up to 35°C on the last two days, the room became really uncomfortable. When I asked reception about it, the staff just said they didn’t know when it would be fixed. I normally don’t write negative reviews, but paying for a hotel room and not being able to relax in it because of the heat just isn’t right. My friend’s room was even worse — the windows didn’t open, so there was no way to get fresh air at all. The «Biryusa» refrigerator was very noisy, so I was forced to turn it off completely, fortunately there was nothing in it. Other than that, the hotel is average. Breakfast is the same every day. The rooms are generally clean, though sometimes there was a bad smell coming from the bathroom. The Wi-Fi is also unreliable — slow and often disconnected.

Pros: the hotel is located in line with the main alley of Independence Square and the windows of the rooms facing north (even numbers 902 – 914) offer a good view of the events on Independence Square.

A nice 3 star hotel, good location with a great view overlooking Rudaki, the Palace of Nations and the ?tallest flagpole in the world. The rooms are large and rather soviet style but clean and comfortable. Our room seemed to be blasting out cool air when it was not hot at all which made us feel rather chilly. This was quickly rectified when the receptionist arranged for a heater to be sent to our room. There is an excellent Georgian restaurant on the premises where we enjoyed an excellent coffee on our arrival and an excellent dinner and wine in the evening. A good choice

I stayed there five nights and the breakfast although tasty, never changed. Was tired of the same thing every morning. There’s also appears to be ongoing development of new government and cultural buildings which sometimes can be noisy.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed really comfortable, good pressure shower with an excellent standard of room cleanliness. Located within easy walking distance to tourist sites, cafes and supermarkets.

I have always enjoyed staying at Shumon. Front desk people are always calm, friendly and capable. Everything works and room sizes and amenities are all that one needs. Having a Georgian restaurant and bar onsite is a real bonus at the end of a tiring day. The hotel is not right in the hub of Dushanbe, but al the essentials are within easy walking distance.

The hot water ran out every morning...so only 1 person could have a hot shower. There are no bedside lamps in the rooms. Breakfast ended too early - we suggest finishing at least 30 minutes later - 9am finish is early for people on holiday. The mattress was rather lumpy.

Issue with air con while I was there, it was minusb6 outside so I was given an electric heater which did the job. I'd imagine it would be more problematic when it's hot outside!

The location is perfect. The receptionist was very helpful. I asked for a room with a view of the park and I got it ! With fantastic sunset view! Room service was great.

What I did not like is that the rooms are located only at 8 and 9 floor. Another floors are occupied by office and other rooms. I would prefer to have rooms at floors lower than 4 floor.

The rooms have huge, high windows and so huge curtains which were almost impossible to open and close. The bathroom drains were a little smelly.

Everything was good!

- The room I booked was huge and amazing. It had a good view but I hoped for the corner room which had the L shaped window view of the park but still it was really good. - The room has all sorts of amenities in it and is super comfortable. The is AC is amazing and everything is quite clean. - Breakfast has a variety of options. Some a freshly made in the morning. - The staff is very friendly and helpful. The girl at the reception speaks English really well. - You can buy sim in the mobile center next to the hotel and there are also some cafes next to the hotel.

The breakfast was an ok selection and it took the staff a while to clear the tables and refill the hot water. The location was good for the landmarks but not for many restaurants.
