How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery friendly and helpful hosts at the guest house. Lovely prepared breakfast in the mornings they packed me a breakfast for leaving early in the morning. They will give you all information you need and help with any questions you have. The location is a bit far from the city centre but can be reached by the number 8 marshrukta which leaves from the main road around the corner from the guest house.

Verified reviewIf you want to stay in Dushanbe, skip the popular guesthouse with 200 rooms (I won't mention any names), and book a room at Guest House Homely. Spacious, clean rooms, air conditioning, extensive breakfast and dinner. Motorcycles could be safely parked behind a gate at the property. Host Erkin is genuinely helpful, hospitable, helps where he can and knows what his guests need. Erkin personally helped us arrange the GBOA and the OVIR permit. Need copies if you're driving the Pamir? No problem. Erkin will take care of it himself. Want to dine at Guest House Homely? You can!
No comments. If it were possible to give it an 11 rating, I would.
We are very glad that you liked it here. All our efforts are thanks to such wonderful guests as you. Come again, our doors are always open for you. Sincerely, Erkin.

The breakfast and optional dinner cooked by the hostess are delicious and the host will make sure you know all the best options to get around and out of Dushanbe. Plus you get to meet interesting people from all around the world in a cozy environment!

Verified reviewan amazing experience! Erkin makes sure that you feel at home and helps you with everything you need while staying in Tajikistan (from tours, to transport, to tourist tips), the best part is that even a few months before when I originally booked the room we already talked a lot about this, the hospitality already started that early! We also had great conversations about our lifes and also his business. He is a very hard working man who does the best he can for his guests and his family. He tries to keep improving the guest house as much as he can and I am happy that everything I expected from this place was not only met, it was even better. The room was very comfortable with good working air conditioning and quality beds. There are fridges and watertanks on each floor so that you always have free drinking water ar your disposal and can keep your own food & drinks cold and unspoiled. The bathroom is shared with 2 other rooms and is always kept very clean. All the extra services were great, both the breakfast and dinner had great variety, tasted delicious and portionwise were really big. I also used their laundry service which was affordable and done properly. A nice added touch was the fact I was offered some watermelon on arrival as a gift. The family works hard to make these services as good as they are! The location was a bit outside of the city center but taxis could get you there within 10 minutes. The neighborhood is quiet and is located in one of the nicer parts of Dushanbe. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby if you want to eat out! Overall, this has definitely been the best accomodation of my trip in central Asia and I'd say I would return to Dushanhe just to stay here again, maybe next time we can organize some other tours. Erkin, thank you personally for everything, I wish you and your family the best!
Nothing bad to say

Verified reviewThis guesthouse is so clean and as the name suggests, homely. Erkin and his family are kind welcoming, with everything you could need available for guests. The dinners are fantastic! Everything is home made each day - the best meals I’ve had in Tajikistan. Guesthouse Homely has been my base, returning 3 times between trips to other areas outside Dushanbe. Absolutely recommend!

Verified reviewErlik is an incredible host. He treats you like family. The house itself is perfect for solo travelers, traveling with friends, and meeting new people. It’s so clean and comfortable, has working AC (so important in this area of the world), bathrooms are clean and modern, and the rooms themselves are exactly what you need when traveling solo. This is the perfect place to get a feel for Tajik culture. Highly recommend if you’re coming to Dushanbe. You cannot beat the value you get with the price.

Verified reviewWe are a family with four children, and our stay was absolutely amazing! The host was fantastic – incredibly helpful, kind, and attentive. He arranged everything for us, including the GBAO permit for the Pamirs and the residence registration. The breakfasts were exceptional – generous, delicious, and beautifully prepared. Everything was perfectly clean, just like in a high-standard European hotel. The location is also great: just a 10-minute taxi ride to the city center. We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay. We highly recommend this place!

Verified reviewWe stayed at Guest House Homely in Dushanbe for two nights with my family and absolutely loved our stay! The guest house truly lives up to its name – it felt just like home. The owner, Erik, is extremely helpful, kind, and always available to assist with anything we needed. The location is perfect – close to restaurants, supermarkets, and everything you might need during your stay. Our room was very clean, cozy, and comfortable. What stood out the most was the breakfast – honestly, the best we had during our entire trip through Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. It was fresh, delicious, and served with such hospitality. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Dushanbe . We would definitely love to come back again!

Verified reviewErkin and his family were very helpful throughout my stay! He helped call me taxis (and even paid for them on my behalf when I struggled to find working ATMs), and found a way to print my visa. For those who stay longer, he helps with registration. Breakfasts were fantastic, and he also offers dinner for 10 Somoni. While the property is slightly away from the city center, it’s only a 15min ride and 2-3$ taxi ride. However, the immediate area around the hotel has numerous supermarkets, a SIM store 2min walk away, and restaurants/non bread sellers. Bathrooms were cleaned daily, and there are 3 rooms per bathroom. Rooms have AC that function well, and multiple power outlets. I recommend and would definitely stay again when back in Dushanbe.

From the time you book accommodation up to the time to leave his place ,he does his best for his guests to have easy experiences and enjoy their trip . Guiding the best way to catch a taxi from the airport, getting a Sim card ,exchanging money . Recommending interesting places to visit and not forget delicious local and Tajik food , perfect breakfast. He is so friendly and speaks several languages helpful for many guests. Highly recommend his place for anyone who visits Dushanbe at a fair price.

There is free cold drinking water near the room. The common area where breakfast is served is also very beautiful. Breakfast is excellent and rich and different every day.The guesthouse is very Good value for money. The highlight of this place is the owner Erkin! He treated me as a member of the family! He invited me for a delicious dinner with his family at the day of an important Muslim festival. He gave me suggestions of where to go what to see. He suggested to join an amazing trip to Iskanderkul lake offered in weekends with a local company for only 19$(not to be missed) He was always ready to help me.Dinner is also available.Overall an excellent economical choice in Dushambe!!!

Verified reviewI stayed two weeks at Guest house Homely and I loved every second of it! The owner Erkin is really kind and helpful, and always open for a conversation. If you have questions or need any advice, he can help you! For example if you need transport to any location within the city or out of the city (if you wanna do a daytrip or travel around for a couple of days). I booked a deluxe room with king size bed and it was spacious and very clean. It has everything needed for a comfortable stay such as a wardrobe, table with chair, TV, AC, etc. What I loved about my room was the big carpet. The food is delicious and homemade! For breakfast there is bread, eggs, pancakes, yoghurt, honey, butter, fruits, tea, coffee. Dinner is also available. Every evening I had the opportunity to try a different dish of the Tajik/Central Asian cuisine, which includes; Vegetables, potatoes, rice, noodles, meat, soup, bread, etc. They also have organic/natural juices! The location wasn't an issue for me personally. The homestay is located in a quiet zone without the noise of traffic, but it's still located only 15 minutes (without traffic jams) away from the city centre by taxi and it only costs between 2 and 3,50 USD. There is plenty of taxis in that area. Within walking distance you can also find a bank, supermarket, sim card provider and other type of shops! I loved my stay here and I will definitely stay here again in the future when visiting Tajikistan!
Nothing!

Verified reviewThis was the best stay of my trip. The room was clean, big and light with a little balcony. In the evening (for $10) there were superb traditional homemade dinners. These were eaten together with the other guests (who were a great mix of people). But the best part was the host Erkin who is very friendly, speaks good English and goes out of his way to help his guests. He helped me get a SIM card from a nearby shop, gave advice about nearby attractions, acted as an interpreter and explained some things about Tajikistan.
For me there was nothing to dislike. The location is out of the centre which some may not want but a taxi is only 20 to 25 somoni. The bathroom is shared but that is more than reflected in the price.

Verified reviewIt was a really good guesthouse. We really felt at home here. We arrived late in the afternoon and were immediately offered to have dinner, which was great. The room was spacious and the breakfast was good too. Erkin is very helpful and funny. He arranged taxis for us and gave good advice on what to visit in Dushanbe and how to proceed our travels. The guesthouse is not located in the city center, but it is easy and cheap to get a taxi.
The shared bathroom could be cleaned a bit more often (bin being full for example). Other than that is was great!
Good afternoon, dear Suzanne. We are very glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. We are very sorry that we did not keep track of the bucket in the toilet at that moment and caused you inconvenience. We are grateful to you for bringing these details to our attention, and your opinion is very important to us. We will do everything possible to ensure that this does not happen again. Each guest is unique to us in their own way. We really, really hope that you will come to us again. With respect and reverence, Erkin.

Verified reviewThe property is cozy and even though it looks like it is far away from the city center it’s only 10 minutes by (cheap green) taxi. The host is exceptionally helpful, doesn’t mind answering any questions. The complimentary breakfast was a nice warming touch and a home-made dinner (costs extra) was traditional Tajik and also really tasty. They’ve opened recently, so don’t let the small number of reviews draw you away, the guest house is great, we had nice time staying.
Thank you very much for the amazing review. Come again, we will always welcome you.
