Only one bathroom could become a problem when the place is full but it was OK for my stay.

Friendly staff, but only Mansour speaks English. Place was clean and comfortable. Very cool seating area away from the heat. Location is excellent but not well signposted. Look for the wooden door with number 15. Would stay here again.

The price turned out to be almost twice more than we expected... It was said $11 on Booking, but turned out to be $20 at the property. But anyway we are thankful.

Very nice hosts, beautiful yard by their building. Thanks for cooking an early breakfast for us, as we were checking out early.

There was only one bathroom but we never had to wait long to use it. There was a small problem with our internet booking so it's best to get their confirmation a couple of days before arrival, if not through the site then by phone. All in all a great stay in Panjakent!

Very friendly people, the husband the wife and all the kids! We also met a lot of travellers there and had a great time through breakfast, which was delicious. The owner was Very communicative and available to help us out with our trek and give us some insights on tajik history and advice on where to have dinner. Very comfortable beds. All in all a very good start in Panjakent!

The staff is very friendly. The owner, Mansur, will help you adapt to Tajikistan and give you useful advice on what to do and what not to do. The location is ideal, close to the center, and there is plenty of space to stay there if you are traveling by bike or backpacking. There is spring water in the courtyard.

    All good.

Great place. Owner and his family go out of their way to make things special and efficient for travellers. They dedicate time and work tirelessly to go beyond expectations. The hostel is close to Panjakent's bazaar. Easy to get to and well located with shops and restaurants within walking distance. Internet works great. Good breakfast as well. If you need tours or want to go around Tajikistan, staff can help you organise whatever you need. Plenty of travellers from all over the world will also enhance and entertain your stay.

I would have happily spent the whole day relaxing in the courtyard of this home-from-home family-run hostel. Mansur is intelligent, knowledgeable, kind and his family are lovely too. Near the bazaar and shared taxis to all locations. Bokhara cafe js and excellent place for lunch and dinner - 5-7 minutes walk away.

I think there was an error listed about the rooms - I was quoted USD12 for a triple room, which is the same price as a dorm room when I booked online and was assigned to the dorm room. Dorm beds do not have plugs next to the bed and do not have privacy curtains if that’s something you must have. Bed was abit soft for my liking - felt that it was ‘sinking’ in the middle

Breakfast was amazing and the accommodation was located very near the central bazaar.

    Nothing, this place was great.

Great location in Central Panjakent where I was able to meet fellow travellers (and the help of our gracious host) arrange a hike & accommodation in the seven lakes region. Plus clean bathrooms and a warm welcome (with a cool drink and a cup of tea).

The layout of the dorms is a bit weird as one room opens from another. Also there is only one bathroom that can get a little busy when the guesthouse is full.

Wonderful atmosphere, very good location. Mansur is an absolutely generous host with a lovely family.

I had a lovely and comfortable stay at Sim Sim Hostel. Mansur arranged a great tour to the 7 Lakes for me and another couple at a good price, and even joined us on the hike from the 6th to 7th lake with his little son. Such a wonderful family ,his sweet mom, friendly wife, and two helpful sons made the stay even more special. I definitely plan to come back!

Breakfast could have been a bit more, a bit of jam with the bread would have been nice.

The location is in a quiet yet central area which is very convenient. The patio is great with all the plants, the upstairs common area is perfect to relax or work. The host and his family speak good English, they are friendly and welcoming.

Sim-Sim hostel in Panjakent is not just the place you take a short rest before moving to another city but also you can find unforgettable moment while staying there. My experience here was super amazing. I got a warm welcome from Mr. Mansour the owner of the hostel who showed me everything and introduced me his family members especially his three boys, they are so lovely and absolutely nice to me and other guests. I miss them so so much. Moreover, the guests in this hostel can connect each other easily; we met other travellers here and we travelled together for few days in Tajikistan and we still keep in touch until now. As the price including breakfast, we felt the breakfast was well prepared by the mother and served by these 3 lovely boys. It was a good time to chat with other travellers and share our journeys. Other than that, a grandma kept giving us chocolate candy as a small action but really impressed. Sim-Sim can make me feel like a guesthouse more than a hostel, feel like home where there is parents taking care their family members. I felt impressed to stay here since day 1 untill the last day my time in Panjakent. Muhideen, Thailand

This hostel was a gem! The family running it is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the stay feel personal and warm. The rooms are comfortable, and the balcony views are a nice bonus. There’s also a great common space to meet other travelers. Located right in the center of Panjakent, it’s close to the bazaar, parks, and local restaurants serving tasty national dishes. All that, and the price is super reasonable — highly recommended.

The hostel is a bit hard to find the first time due to a lack of signage, but the locals are very friendly and pointed me in the right direction.

I stayed here on two separate occasions, and each time was a happy and pleasant experience. They have fresh drinking water flowing from the mountains, comfortable beds and Mansour's family always give a warm welcome. It is very easy to make friends at this hostel due to the design of the common area and rooms. It is a brilliant hub to meet other travellers and hikers, get information and share transport to the next location. Mansour himself is a wealth of information and can help with your next steps. Also the shower pressure was strong and the water is hot. They have one western toilet and one local, but there was rarely a wait due to the maximum occupancy of the hostel.

    Nothing to dislike, perfect

Amazing hostel with the nicest family. Mansoor is so nice and helpful with information, tours, arranging shared taxi, recommendations for budget options, etc. His kids, wife and mom are lovely, so warm and nice. The dorms are so so cozy, I had the best sleep, the beds are really good. I love the terrace sitting area outside the dorm with the open walls and curtains, a very comfortable place to relax, work, read. Good breakfast too. Excellent shower, hot water with good pressure. Perfect location, close to the bazaar and bus station. The entire hostel and home was kept very clean. Inner courtyard with a garden. I especially loved the view from the dorm (inner room) with a blossom tree right outside the window

One single bathroom is maybe not enough when the guesthouse is full (it was ok for us, but not if you're on a schedule)

Great homestay in Panjakent. Our host and his family are very welcoming. He speaks a really good english and can give you a lot of recommendations. He also organises tours and treks in the Fann Mountains. We had the bottom room the first night, large and comfy bed. When we came back we had the upstair room, you have to cross the shared room to get to it. It has a small balcony and two less comfortable beds.

My friend and I give great thanks to Mansur Aqa and his lovely family. Their hospitality alone makes Sim-Sim Hostel well worth the price. They are happy to receive you at any time and will assist you with requests. The children are helpful and love to practice their English. Though we did not need the service, the hostel will drive you to Haft-Kul and they can pick you up from the border if needed. Muslim travellers, a historical mosque is just around the corner! For all travellers, 15 minutes walk south (go straight) and you are at the Ancient City of Panjakent, where you can walk amidst the ruins on top of the hill. You are directly beside the bazaar. I hope to stay again.
